ATX Hongkongers will be hosting a Hong Kong Tai Po Fire Vigil on Tuesday, December 9

📍 *Location: Outdoor parking area by the Great Lawn at the Austin Asian American Resource Center (AARC)*

🕕 *Time: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM*

Our intention is to keep this memorial gentle and quiet.

There will be no public speeches, formal programs, or video presentations.

We hope to create a peaceful space where community members may come as they feel moved—placing a LED candle, offering a moment of prayer, or simply pausing in silence.

A small information and reflection display will be set up to honor the victims and provide space for contemplation.

🤝 We welcome our AAPI friends and Austinites of all backgrounds to join us in solidarity and support.

If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to reach out.

Thank you for your support as we work together to create a comforting and peaceful environment for everyone.

Harbour Kollective

Harbour Kollective is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit umbrella organization connecting partner groups across the US. We share resources and foster community growth by supporting various cultural events, civic initiatives, and dragon boat teams. Your donations help us honor our Hong Kong American heritage and expand our impact.

Our Affiliates

Hong Kong XR Museum (HKXRM)
The Hong Kong XR Museum (HKXRM) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to using Extended Reality (XR), artificial intelligence, and interactive technologies to preserve Hong Kong’s disappearing cultures and stories. From Dai Pai D**g to the Cheung Chau Bun Festival, these authentic histories and collective memories are being recorded and re-experienced through digital exhibitions and interactive storytelling.

HKXRM mission is to allow overseas Hongkongers and global audiences to reconnect with these cultural treasures, evoke a sense of belonging and identity, and ensure that Hong Kong’s spirit continues to thrive into the future.

ATX Hongkongers
Founded in 2019, ATX Hongkongers unites the Hong Kong American community in Austin. We build support networks, preserve culture, and host events like Mid-Autumn Festival and Lunar New Year celebrations. We encourage volunteering at local events such as Austin’s Open Turkey. In 2025, we co-founded Harbour Kollective to extend our reach nationwide, amplifying the presence and impact of the Hong Kong diaspora in Austin and far beyond.

KONGcentric
Established in 2021 in Seattle, KONGcentric shares Hong Kong culture via film screenings, cultural events, and community gatherings including co-hosting Lunar New Year Celebration and Summer Picnic. In 2025, we supported the debut of the Seattle Hongkongers Dragon Boat Team, strengthening the Hong Kong American presence in the Pacific Northwest. Alongside ATX Hongkongers, we co-founded Harbour Kollective, amplifying the diaspora’s voice and impact nationally.

Harbour Kollective — A community rooted in the spirit of Hong Kong’s harbour, flourishing across the Pacific.

We chose “Harbour” to carry the collective memory of Hongkongers, and “Kollective” to symbolize how we have taken root in the United States, continuing the cultural bonds of Hong Kong and passing them on to future generations.

Harbour Kollective

Harbour — meaning “sea port,” is written in the British spelling, which is the form most familiar to Hongkongers. It carries with it our memories and emotions tied to home.

Kollective replaces the common “C” with a “K,” blending into the American context while symbolizing how we, Hongkongers carrying the memories of our harbour city, have taken root in the United States and gathered together as a new community collective — continuing and passing on the cultural spirit of Hong Kong.

HK is also the short-form of Hong Kong.

Therefore, our alliance is named Harbour Kollective, with the Chinese name 「港滙」 — signifying “Gathered by The Harbour, Gathered in Our Hearts,” connecting us with each other and with the next generation’s identity and culture.

🎉🐉 Seattle Dragon Boat Festival — This Saturday! 🐉🎉

Hi everyone! 🙌🙌

The Dragon Boat Festival may have officially passed, but the Seattle Dragon Boat Festival is happening this Saturday, June 14, 2025, at South Lake Union — and we need your support!

🔥 This will be the first-ever race appearance by the Seattle Hongkongers, and we’d love for you to come cheer us on!

📅 Event Time: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

🎭 There’ll be races, performances, community booths, and food trucks all day!

🏁 Our preliminary races are in the morning, with the final race at 12:30 PM — don’t miss it!
