On September 30, 2025, we launched Harbour Kollective with a simple mission: to celebrate, embrace, and unite Hong Kong Americans. One year later, that wave keeps growing. 💙

Thank you for making our first year so meaningful:
🐉 Paddling together on the water, with 80+ active paddlers and new friends at every try-out
🏮 Celebrating Lunar New Year and Mid-Autumn as a community
✍️ Preserving Cantonese: supporting young writers in Writing from the Heart, the Global Cantonese Writing Initiative for Youth
🕯️ Standing together in Austin and Seattle to remember the victims of the Wang F*k Court fire
🧡 Walking for St. Jude kids in Austin and Seattle
🗳️ Joining NAAO and sharing bilingual 2026 ballot explainers for Texas and Washington

Our Washington 2026 ballot series starts with seven distinct U.S. House races. Districts 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 each elect a representative for a two-year term. Swipe to see the candidate names and candidate-stated priorities on each card. Your address determines which congressional district is yours; you do not vote in all seven.

Election Day is November 3. Ballots are mailed by October 16; online/mail registration or address updates are due October 26. Check your own ballot at voter.votewa.gov.

The Railroad Commission regulates oil, gas and pipelines, not trains. Part 1 covers U.S. Senate, governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general and comptroller. Each office is a separate choice on your ballot.

Part 1 of 2: one Texas ballot, many different offices. This carousel starts with the series introduction, then U.S. Senate, governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general and comptroller. Swipe to see every nominee shown on these race cards, with candidate-stated priorities where verified.

The governor leads state agencies; the lieutenant governor shapes the state Senate; the attorney general is the state’s lawyer; the comptroller handles taxes and revenue forecasts. Part 2 covers land, agriculture and railroad commissioners.

Seattle Hongkongers kicked off our second season with a debut at the Tacoma Rainier Dragon Boat Festival 2026 and brought home the silver medal in the Community – Cascade Final! 🥈

A huge thank you to all our paddlers for the past few weeks of strategy meetings, intensive training sessions, and for giving it everything on race day. It is this teamwork, determination, and fighting spirit that made this achievement possible. With this momentum behind us, we look forward to striving for even greater results at the Seattle Dragon Boat Festival 2026 next month.

Special thanks to Coach Lesley of Seattle WAM Dragon Boat Club and Terence Lee from Dallas DUC for their guidance and training, as well as to our captain Adrian and vice captain Alan for their leadership, and to all our sponsors and community members for their generous support of Seattle Hongkongers.

Harbour-Kollective is now an official member of the Network of Asian American Organizations (NAAO) — meaning Hong Kong-Americans are formally recognized as part of Austin's AAPI network with a stronger seat at the civic table.

This partnership will help us work with Asian American leaders and organizations to:

✅ Uplift Hong Kong-American voices
✅ Expand culturally responsive services
✅ Deepen our role in Austin's future

ATX Hongkongers will be hosting a Hong Kong Tai Po Fire Vigil on Tuesday, December 9

📍 *Location: Outdoor parking area by the Great Lawn at the Austin Asian American Resource Center (AARC)*

🕕 *Time: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM*

Our intention is to keep this memorial gentle and quiet.

There will be no public speeches, formal programs, or video presentations.

We hope to create a peaceful space where community members may come as they feel moved—placing a LED candle, offering a moment of prayer, or simply pausing in silence.

A small information and reflection display will be set up to honor the victims and provide space for contemplation.

🤝 We welcome our AAPI friends and Austinites of all backgrounds to join us in solidarity and support.

If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to reach out.

Thank you for your support as we work together to create a comforting and peaceful environment for everyone.
