The City of Austin Arts, Culture, Music and Entertainment (ACME) is now accepting applications for the 2026 Changing Exhibits Program at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS)!

This opportunity allows Austin-based visual artists to have their work displayed at the airport, which has over 22 million passengers pass through annually.

ACME staff are available through Friday, June 12th (5PM) to help guide you through the application process and answer any questions you may have.

Thank you to the Pecan Springs Elementary teachers and staff for everything you have done for our students this year! Our association sponsored a sweet treat from a neighborhood business, Mum Foods, for the last day of school! Thank you to the members who contributed. The interim Principal, Ms Martinez-Duran, and Counselor Mr Haywood, recieved on behalf of the staff and they were so grateful!

Smoke Alarm Canvassing event for the Pecan Springs-Springdale Hills | Neighborhood Association.

The canvassing event in the PSSNA is on June 10 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This is when AFD will be going door to door installing and inspecting the smoke detectors to those who want them. You can also submit your requests electronically through the Community Engagement Request Form and indicate what date works for you if you cannot participate on June 10.
Residents can provide their information to request FREE smoke alarm installations, battery replacements, and home hazard assessments. Even if you already have smoke detectors you can still have AFD inspect them to ensure they are working properly.

Firefighters from at least two fire stations will participate in the canvassing and complete installations, depending on the number of sign-ups and requests received. We had over 80 participants in 2024, let's see if we can beat that number this year.
Nearly 4,000 Americans die every year in residential fires. Smoke alarms can provide your family with crucial early warning time to get out of the house quickly before toxic fumes accumulate to lethal levels. A working smoke alarm can double your chance of surviving a fire in the home.
