Some coaching journeys leave a lasting mark on a sport and on generations of athletes and coaches along the way.

Today, we’re proud to spotlight Susan Brewer of Bellville High School, a remarkable 50 year member of TGCA and the winningest volleyball coach in Texas history.
For five decades, Coach Brewer has been part of TGCA while building a legacy defined by leadership, excellence and an incredible commitment to Texas girls’ athletics.

Spent this morning admiring the athletic facilities at Melissa ISD. I was there to present the 2025-26 4A-6A TGCA Wrestling Athlete of the Year to Malia Griffin. I got to witness their early morning wrestling work-out. What a great group of young athletes (Boys & Girls) with outstanding coaches. Malia won this award last year as a junior and her upcoming senior UIL Wrestling season looks very promising. Congrats to an exceptional young lady on and off the mat.

A summer achievement worth celebrating! Navasota High School senior Amira Randhawa recently received her 2026 TGCA Track & Field All-Star certificate, recognizing her participation in this past summer’s All-Star event at Arlington High School.

Amira is pictured with Head Girls Track & Field Coach Jersey Gates. Congratulations, Amira, and thank you, Coach Gates, for supporting Texas girls’ athletics!

Thank you to Navasota High School for sharing this proud moment with TGCA. 🇨🇱

Today, we celebrate the coaches who make a difference far beyond the scoreboard.

On National Coaches Day, TGCA proudly recognizes the coaches across Texas who teach, lead, mentor, and inspire student athletes every single day.

Thank you for leading with heart, teaching lessons that last a lifetime, and challenging young women to become their very best; on the court, on the field, and in the classroom.

To all of our coaches across Texas... THANK YOU for everything you do.

👇 Help us celebrate! Tag a coach or leave a shout-out in the comments for someone who has made a difference in your life.

⭐️WHY I’M TGCA | COACH SPOTLIGHT⭐️

Why do coaches choose to be part of TGCA?

We thought the best people to answer that question were our coaches themselves.
This week, meet Coach Jason Roemer from Fredericksburg HS and hear what TGCA has meant to his coaching journey.

TGCA is about connection, recognition, education, advocacy and supporting the people who dedicate themselves to Texas girls' athletics.
