On National Peace Officers’ Memorial Day, we honor the courage, service, and sacrifice of the law enforcement officers who gave their lives in the line of duty.

Today serves as a solemn reminder of the risks carried by those who wear the badge and the lasting impact their sacrifice leaves behind on families, departments, and communities across the nation.

Honoring the life and service of Retired DPS Trooper Daniel Shown, who began serving the Texas Department of Public Safety in 1980. Trooper Shown recently passed from complications of a line-of-duty injury sustained in 1988 and is the 243rd DPS officer to die in the line of duty since 1823. 🙏

Service details are below for those wishing to pay their respects.

Visitation: Friday, March 13 | 6–8 PM
Funeral: Saturday, March 14 | 11 AM
