Conservation is everyone's responsibility, but it should be everyone's responsibility equally.

As Corpus Christi continues to address ongoing drought conditions and water shortages, the Corpus Christi Apartment Association, in conjunction with TAA, is advocating for a simple principle: apartment residents deserve the same consideration as homeowners.

Apartment communities are homes. The water used in those homes supports everyday needs like cooking, bathing, drinking, and sanitation, just like any single-family residence.

That's why CCAA is encouraging city leaders to consider a per-unit allocation model that recognizes each apartment home as an individual household and ensures conservation efforts are applied fairly across the community.

This isn't about avoiding conservation. It's about making sure renters aren't asked to carry a disproportionate share of the burden.

A TAA member since 2008, Cayce first became involved through the ONE Conference in 2010 and has been a dedicated leader and advocate for the industry ever since.
