Homelessness is more than what you see.

Housing instability and mental health are closely linked, each shaping the other in ways that often go unseen. Stable housing creates the foundation for long-term well-being for our neighbors.

Some things are harder to say out loud.
But being heard can make all the difference.

At Caritas of Austin, support starts with listening. Our case managers walk alongside our neighbors as they work toward stability, offering guidance, consistency, and real connection every step of the way.

Be part of that support. Donate or volunteer today.

POV: You went from surviving every day to finally having room to think about your future.

Having a home means being able to rest at the end of the day. Having a warm meal brings comfort and consistency. Support from a case manager means having someone in your corner during difficult moments.

That’s the kind of impact your support helps make possible every day. 💙

Whether it’s taking a break, getting outside, or checking in with someone you trust, small things can make a big difference.

Meet Gary.

For years, Gary worked long days in construction to support his family. But when a chronic illness suddenly changed his life, he found himself experiencing homelessness and living out of his truck.

Now, with a stable home, Gary can focus on healing, caring for his health (both physical and mental), and giving back to others in the community.

Congratulations to our Employee of the Quarter, Emily Mighton! As the Community Pantry Coordinator, Emily helps manage donation deliveries and keeps three pantries running smoothly to ensure our neighbors have access to healthy groceries and support when they need it most. Her hard work, organization, and care for our community make a meaningful impact every day.

We are so proud to have Emily in the Caritas family! Thank you for all you do 💙

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Caritas of Austin! 💐

Today, we’re celebrating the moms, grandmothers, caregivers, and mother figures who show up with strength, love, and way more multitasking than should be humanly possible.

Wishing a joyful, restful, and well-deserved day to all the moms across Austin! 💕

Mental health is deeply connected to stability, and having a place of your own can make all the difference. For John, having a home has meant finding peace in his own space and building a routine that supports his mental health and helps him move forward.

A safe and stable home creates the foundation for that kind of progress, and together, we can make Austin more vibrant for all. .
