Hello friends!

This Christmas, ten extraordinary families are preparing for something many of us take for granted — a weekend together filled with laughter, joy, and beautiful memories.

The children attending our upcoming L4 Cares Christmas Hero Camp have faced battles no child should ever have to fight.

A little girl waiting for a new heart. Children who have battled Stage 4 cancer, brain and spinal tumors, kidney cancer, and rare genetic disorders. Children who have endured organ transplants, countless surgeries, treatments, and hundreds of nights in hospital rooms instead of their own beds.

And behind every one of these brave children are parents and siblings who have walked through the uncertainty, fear, exhaustion, and heartbreak right alongside them.

On December 5–6, we want to give these ten families something truly special.

A chance to step away from the weight of their medical journeys and simply enjoy being a family again. But Hero Camp is about so much more than Christmas magic and a weekend of fun. It's about bringing families together who understand one another's journeys without having to explain a thing. It's about parents finding encouragement in other parents, siblings making friendships with children who understand their world, and families discovering they are not walking this road alone.

It's a time for healing, connection, building community, and creating memories that illness has taken far too many opportunities to make.

This holiday season, we invite you to be part of something beautiful. ❤️ UPDATE: HELP US BUILD A RAMP

We are so grateful for the incredible response and willingness to help!

A professional contractor/carpenter has now gone out to the property, taken measurements, and assessed the materials and labor needed to safely build the ramp for our neighbor.

Before we can officially kick off the project, a few adjustments need to be worked through to make sure everything is done properly and safely. We expect to have another update by Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.

In the meantime, we have one more ask! 🪵🔨
Do any of you have personal contacts with a local lumberyard or building-supply company that might be interested in donating the materials needed for this project? If so, we would LOVE to hear from you—or have them reach out to us directly!

Operation Not Forgotten | L4 Cares

Please share to anyone who you think could assist build him a beautiful little ramp for his RV! 🙏

On Easter Sunday, a 64 yo resident of Leander/Volente was working in his garage which was being heated by a propane heater. The heater exploded and he was caught in the explosion. He lost his leg in the explosion. He is on Medicare and has been learning to get around with just one leg on crutches. Unfortunately he now lives in an RV full time and it has been very difficult for him to get in and out of his rv. Recently he has fallen out the door several times.

He does not have the funds to cover the quotes they have gotten for a ramp but is in desperate need for his own safety. Help!
