Nearly half of all Atlanta residents are renters.
Too many of them face unsafe conditions, the threat of eviction, and a legal system they can't navigate alone. Not because they don't know their rights exist, but because they don't have the resources to fight for them.

Standing With Our Neighbors (SWON) eliminates that barrier. Our attorneys and community advocates show up first, educating tenants of their rights, and keeping families rooted before a housing crisis becomes an education crisis.

Ten years of showing up. Here's to ten more. ✊

Join the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation (AVLF) team and make a real impact in our community! We're now hiring for three full-time positions supporting our mission of standing with, for, and alongside Atlantans, including roles tied to the Atlanta Rising Prevention Pilot, a three-year homelessness prevention initiative funded in partnership with Partners for HOME and the Atlanta Continuum of Care. The initiative focuses on preventing displacement and promoting long-term housing stability for households at imminent risk of homelessness through legal advocacy, community engagement, supportive services, and strategic partnerships.

--- Community Advocate (CSP) ---
Connect households at imminent risk of homelessness to community resources and financial assistance, helping clients maintain stable housing as a Navigator through the Atlanta Rising Prevention Pilot.

--- SSH Legal Advocate ---
Prevent displacement and promote long-term housing stability through legal advocacy, community engagement, and strategic partnerships as part of the Atlanta Rising Legal Services Pilot.

--- SSH Staff Attorney ---
Maintain a housing-related caseload, coordinate with pro bono volunteer attorneys, and engage in community lawyering efforts including outreach, legal clinics, and collaboration with schools and service providers to reduce displacement across Atlanta.
