AmeriCorps Seniors Professional Network

AmeriCorps Seniors Professional Network ASPN is a professional network of national service directors and staff.

The network advocates for and educates members to facilitate successful Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion Programs throughout the country. PURPOSE

Operating with one message and one purpose, we believe:

* The purpose of our program is to enable limited income seniors to serve children with identified needs.

* To be successful programs require adequate funding that flows directly fr

om the federal government to the sponsoring agency.

* Program staff needs training and technical assistance that promotes professional growth and development through partnership with CNCS.

* Measures of success for program accountability should be multi-faceted.

Her session incorporated interactive workshop activities that intentionally paired participants from different generations to engage in meaningful dialogue on ageism, share lived experiences, and collaboratively explore ways to challenge stereotypes and foster greater understanding across age groups.
