Ms. Nelms had an ongoing leak in her roof. Fraser Roofing offered to donate a completely brand new roof for her, so we contracted Armando with A.H. Roofing & Construction to repair the rot and damage to her walls and replace her rotting/sinking floors! What a stellar job he did matching her wood panelling and painting! Looks so nice in there for her! In the past, we've also fixed a broken gate for Ms. Nelms, replaced sinking floors in her kitchen, and some some small plumbing work. We are so happy she knows who to call when she finds a leak so that we can keep her home dry and safe.

Ms. Gloria was looking for help and asked if we could point her toward any resources to help get her repairs on her home. We said "You found us! We are the resource!". When we told her the repairs were free, she sounded like she'd won the lottery. It's so sweet when we get to hear how much these repairs mean to our senior neighbors. We completely replaced the floors in Ms. Gloria's kitchen along with her cabinets, places the floors in her bathroom, got her a new accessible walk-in shower, and a new toilet! The project turned out great and she was overjoyed.

One of our beautiful neighbors donated this very low mileage 2007 Honda element. How cool is that? We have clean title and we are selling this bad boy and the money goes to the Mission! $11,500. Here's a project we were able to accomplish just before the end of last year in East Lake:

Ms. Sherri is raising an adult disabled daughter and had an unusable handicap shower that we were able to rehab for her. She needed to have all of the floors underneath her bathroom, in her hallway, her bedroom and her kitchen replaced due to rotting/sinking... and when you tear up the floors in the kitchen, you nearly always realize you need new water and sewer lines, and we also got her a nice working range when we redid her kitchen. Her furnace hadn't worked for two years, so we replaced it with a brand new working furnace as well!

We were over at Ms. Geraldine’s place in Kirkwood, checking out a faulty gas heater and ended up doing a walk around with her. She complained that it was super hard to step into her tub since she walks with a cane and we told her we’d like to put in an accessible shower for her. The bathroom hadn’t been built to code, so we had to rebuild the walls on both sides of the shower, put in new flooring and a door (there wasn’t one) for her. While we were there, we noticed rotting siding and took care of that for her as well. It was a BIG project that put a BIG smile on our neighbor’s face…which makes it all worth it!
