It's Giving Tuesday!

If you're seeing this post it means that somewhere along the way, you've been a part of the Songs For Kids journey. Perhaps, even for 19 years!

Raising the funds to bring our free programs to our families is challenging work. We don't just see our families once, we stay with them for as long as they believe they benefit from our services. Many kids have been with us for many years. And it can sometimes feel like pushing a growing snowball up a hill as we continue to both add and retain these extraordinary young rock stars.

Thankfully, you've made it so much easier.

If you have the opportunity to contribute today we'd be grateful.

Our 20th year of service starts next month (can't believe it!)

The band emphasizes the power of teamwork and support for each other, bringing together kids that would otherwise be on a more solitary journey. The band features 6 unique and extraordinary individuals as we travel across the country on a big accessible bus.

The Songs For Kids Band is on the road!
My dad’s favorite phrase was “let’s go team.”
He used it seemingly everyday, referring to my mom, my brother and myself.
When he passed and we were going through his litany of paperwork, we found a letter. It was from a medical team, nurses and doctors from a hospital he was leaving.
It had a list of Ken “catch phrases” in the operating room.

Number one was “Let’s go team.”
This band and this team represent the word just like he would have wanted, and even though he only liked classical music and had no idea who Nirvana was, he would have loved this band.
I’m so proud of these kids, their families and especially the leaders and mentors, Weston, Spencer and Tessa, plus Jordan, David and Leah. Everybody has worked harder than I thought possible, often through four hour rehearsals with endless lyrics, my bad guitar solos and sometimes hot pizza. It takes a lot of guts to stick with something and see it through.

It’s time to hit the road.
