There’s just something special about coming home to Leadership Georgia. ❤️

This year’s Alumni Weekend in Athens felt especially meaningful because Athens is deeply connected to Leadership Georgia’s beginnings. Several of LG’s founding leaders helped shape the organization’s vision there, making it the perfect setting for a weekend centered on homecoming, legacy, and leadership.

Throughout the weekend, alumni from across generations gathered to reconnect, celebrate, and reflect on the relationships and experiences that continue to make Leadership Georgia so impactful decades later.

From Friday night at the historic Georgia Theater to Mahjong & Mingle, pickleball tournaments, and heartfelt conversations shared throughout the weekend, the spirit of Leadership Georgia was present in every moment.

A particularly meaningful highlight was honoring founding member Rogers Wade, whose vision and leadership helped build the foundation for what Leadership Georgia continues to be today.

One thing was clear throughout the weekend: Leadership Georgia isn’t just a network. It’s a legacy.

Different decades. Different industries. One shared commitment to leading Georgia forward.

Thank you to everyone who helped make Alumni Homecoming Weekend 2026 so special. Here’s to honoring the past, celebrating the present, and always finding our way back home to Leadership Georgia.

For 10 years, LG PLAY has been inspiring the next generation of Georgia leaders and this year’s program was one of the most highly attended yet. 🎪✨

From the high-energy fun of A Night at the Gym to the STEAM-focused creativity of Innovation Under the Big Top, children of Leadership Georgia alumni spent the weekend exploring, learning, collaborating, and building connections that reflect the very heart of the Leadership Georgia experience.

What makes LG PLAY so special is that it’s about more than activities and entertainment. It’s about investing in future leaders, fostering friendships across the state, and creating experiences that connect generations through curiosity, service, and community.

As Program Chairs Susannah and Tripp Maddux shared, “the weekend served as a powerful reminder of why Leadership Georgia continues to matter: building and strengthening a network of dedicated Georgians while creating space for the next generation to shine.”

Thank you to our incredible alumni families, partners, volunteers, and program chairs who helped make this milestone year so meaningful. The future of Georgia is bright. 💙❤️💛💚

The Leadership Georgia Class of 2026 spent time in Athens exploring how innovation, service, and community leadership intersect to shape Georgia’s future.

From conversations on healthcare innovation, entrepreneurship, and public service to thought-provoking discussions around the evolving landscape of collegiate athletics, the Athens program challenged participants to think boldly about the role leaders play in strengthening communities.

A particularly meaningful experience took place at esp Athens where the class witnessed the power of belonging, purpose, and service-driven leadership in action.

Throughout the weekend, one theme continued to rise to the surface: impactful leadership requires both courage and innovation, and the best leaders leave communities stronger than they found them.

✨ INTERN SPOTLIGHT ✨

Please join us in celebrating Cameron Cannon for the incredible impact he made during his spring internship with Leadership Georgia! 👏

Some of the most meaningful Leadership Georgia connections didn’t just happen during the programs, they happened between our kids.

Over the years, LG Play has sparked friendships that stretched far beyond a weekend program:
✨ Summer camp buddies
✨ College classmates
✨ Sports teammates
✨ Travel friends
✨ Kids who grew up together through Leadership Georgia families

Now, we want to hear YOUR stories.

Did your children form a friendship through LG Play that lasted beyond the program? Did they discover a shared interest, stay connected over the years, or grow up alongside fellow LG families?

We’re collecting special LG Play stories to feature in an upcoming issue of the Leadership Ledger, and we’d love to highlight the relationships that made this experience even more meaningful for your family.

Send us a message. We can’t wait to celebrate the legacy of connection!

✨ ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT ✨

Congratulations to alumna Katina Lett, class of 2022, on the release of her children’s book, Jett’s Mind is Just Fine! 📚

Inspired by her own children and personal experiences, the book shares an uplifting message about self-acceptance, resilience, and embracing the unique ways every child learns, grows, and experiences the world.

Katina’s work is a beautiful reminder that leadership is not limited to boardrooms or titles. Sometimes leadership looks like creating stories that help children feel seen, valued, and understood.

Please join us in congratulating Katina on this meaningful accomplishment and in celebrating the impact our alumni continue to make in communities across Georgia. 👏
