Leadership Georgia The LEADERSHIP GEORGIA program is an educational experience addressing issues confronting our state. Senators, U.S.

Five meetings are scheduled at different locations in the state and consist of two days each in January, March, May, September, and November. Leadership Georgia stands apart as one of the nation's oldest and most successful leadership-training programs for young business, civic and community leaders with the desire and potential to work together for a better Georgia. Its primary purpose is to identify, train, and inspire a network of emerging young leaders, whose ages typically range from 25 to 45 years old. Affiliated with the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, the organization has fielded numerous highly influential state and national leaders. Among the ranks of Leadership Georgia alumni there are leaders in business, not-for-profit organizations, and elected officials including U.S. Congressmen, State Legislators, and a Georgia Secretary of State.

Tifton, you gave the Class of 2026 quite a welcome! 🌱

The class spent three days getting to know the people and places behind Georgia agriculture. They visited farms and agricultural businesses, explored research and technology at UGA’s Tifton campus and Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, and heard from leaders about the opportunities and challenges shaping the industry.

There were some moments we won’t soon forget: the Tift County High School band and cheerleaders welcoming the class downtown, conversations with local 4-H and FFA students, a panel of women in agriculture sharing their stories, and a Leadership Georgia County Fair that gave everyone a chance to kick back together.

We left with a deeper appreciation for how agriculture connects to Georgia’s businesses, schools and communities and for the people investing in what grows next.

Thank you to program chairs Anna and Tyson Strickland and everyone in Tifton and Tift County who opened their doors to the class. You made us feel right at home!

For more than two decades, Kathryn Dennis has helped turn generosity into meaningful change across Central Georgia. 👏

As president of the Community Foundation of Central Georgia, Kathryn works alongside donors, nonprofit leaders and community partners to help make the region stronger. Her commitment to service reaches even further, with leadership spanning education, health care, economic development and civic life including OneMacon, the Rotary Club of Macon, the Junior League of Macon and numerous community boards.

A Leadership Georgia graduate herself (class of 1998), Kathryn represents the kind of thoughtful, lasting service this honor was created to recognize.

This special honor recognizes someone whose leadership, service and support embody what Leadership Georgia is all about. Through his commitment to higher education, civic engagement and developing the next generation of leaders, Jere’s impact can be felt across our state.

The 9th Annual LG Clays is happening Friday, October 23 at Blakock Lakes Club, and registration is officially OPEN!

Region 2 knows how to make a Sunday evening count! 🍑

Leadership Georgia alums gathered at Jaemor Farms for an evening of catching up over food and drinks, moving from one conversation to the next, reconnecting with familiar faces and meeting a few new ones along the way.

From conversations around The Shed to one pretty great group photo, it was simply a fun reason to get LG friends from across the region together.

A big thank you to our Region 2 Rockstars Natalie & Nick Challen and the host committee; Shelly & Drew Echols, Jesse & Kyle Gibson, and Mary & Don Grimsley; for making it happen.
