English Language Programs place highly qualified U.S.-citizen educators in the field of TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) on projects funded by the U.S. Department of State to assist U.S. Embassies in delivering English language programs and supporting public diplomacy and mutual understanding through cultural exchange.

The Fellow application for the 2027-2028 cycle opens on October 1, 2026 (and for the first time, former English Language Fellows can reapply).

Experienced English language educators with a graduate-level degree who are willing to complete up to 10-month, in-person assignments worldwide through teaching, training, ESP areas such as security and STEM, and cultural exchange are invited to apply.

The application deadline is Oct. 1 for the U.S. Department of State Gilman International Scholarship Program,, which provides up to $5,000 in merit-based scholarships to outstanding American undergraduate students with high financial need to pursue credit-bearing academic studies and career-oriented internships abroad.

Deadline to apply for 2027–2028 The Fulbright Program is October 6, 2026 by 5 pm EDT.

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program advances knowledge and innovation, finds solutions to complex global issues, and supports peaceful relations between the U.S. and other nations.

Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, hold a conferred bachelor's degree and meet the language requirements of the award to which they are applying.
