Doggie Harmony is a non-profit (501c3), GA-licensed rescue group focused on matching right people to right dogs in Atlanta. Available dogs are often found by Good Samaritans, come from 'death row' of animal control, or are with owners who seek to relinquish. Secondary to our dog placement objective, we sponsor spay/neuter, wellness, training and boarding to keep or place dogs in happy homes. has t

he highest incidence of unwanted pets and the shelters supported by its county government are so over-populated, that they have to put animals to sleep as often as weekly to make room for new arrivals. For this reason, we partner with many northern rescue groups to make GA dogs available for adoption there and have successfully sent hundreds of dogs to their forever homes up there. We are foster-based and do not have a shelter. Unfortunately, this means we are not able to intake urgent dogs in need. For those willing to house/foster dogs, we are happy to help you re-home this pooch. We just ask that you complete our Dog Information Profile (http://doggieharmony.info/docs/rehoming-form) so we will have the details needed to do so.

💙 Hector just had his second annual vet visit with us, which means he's been a 'boarder' for nearly **3 years**.

The good news? His senior bloodwork looks great! Aside from arthritis medication, Hector is happy, active, and thriving. Even better, he's made friends with all four resident dogs in his home-boarding family after taking the time he needed to settle in.

But Hector is still waiting for something he's never truly had: a family of his own.

He's spent years borrowing a home. Could someone give this sweet senior the love, attention, and security he deserves in his golden years? 🐾

🐴❤️Meet Ted the Mule❤️🐴 At Doggie Harmony, we spend a lot of time celebrating dogs finding safety, healing, and second chances. But today, we’re sharing a happy tail that’s a little outside the box.

Ted recently found himself needing a new home when his previous owners could no longer care for him. Thankfully, longtime Doggie Harmony supporters, the Willards, stepped up and gave him the fresh start he deserved.

When Ted arrived, he wasn’t feeling his best. He needed dental care, treatment for lice, and a little extra TLC. Today, he’s feeling much better and settling into his new life in Massachusetts, where he’s enjoying the love and care every animal deserves.

Stories like Ted’s remind us that rescue comes in many forms. Whether they bark, bray, purr, or neigh, every animal matters and every second chance is worth celebrating. ❤️

And speaking of Massachusetts... Ted shares his state with one of our favorite adoptable pups, Mavi! 🐾 Mavi has been waiting far too long for her forever family and is still searching for a home of her own.

Because she had lived successfully with dogs, cats, and kids, she was able to land an amazing new family in NJ after the tough economy led to the loss of her home here in GA. ❤️

Her previous family couldn’t keep her—but they gave her something priceless: a foundation of positive experiences that helped her find her next chapter.

Anyone Remember Rudy? The GA dog who spent the first year of his life chained outside?

Now known as Graham, he’s making up for lost time and living his absolute best life.

🚗 Daily rides to the community garden
🏞️ Park walks with Mom
🏖️ Maine vacations filled with swimming, duck chasing, and frog stalking
🐿️ Regular squirrel patrols at Grandma & Grandpa’s house (public enemy #1)

He’s also a fruit-and-veggie-loving gentleman who takes treats with perfect manners.

And the nicknames?
🧛‍♂️ Grahampire — thanks to the tiny fang that peeks out when he’s upside down.
🦖 Velour-sa-Raptor — soft as velour, fast as a dinosaur.
👴 Future title: Graham-paw.

🍀 Karma's lucky break came all the way from New Jersey!

Despite being called "the easiest dog ever," this sweet GA brown dog couldn't find a home here. Then our amazing rescue partners at Eleventh Hour Rescue asked if we had any cat-friendly dogs... and the rest is history. ❤️

Now Karma is living her best life with her new family in NJ.

As a rescuer, I try not to make every conversation about dogs needing homes (the struggle is real 😅), but it was such a delight to walk into Blue Ridge Adventure Dogs and realize they totally get me.

Not only were they excited to hang a flyer for our adoptable superstar Mavi, but the guy at the front desk has 3 dogs and 2 fosters of his own. My kind of people.

Blue Ridge folks: take your dogs there, grab a cocktail, and support good humans doing good things. And while you’re at it, help me plaster the town with flyers for our best-trained girl, Mavi. Her future family has to be out there somewhere. ❤️🐾

We know y'all love the happy tails, and it's been way too long. Lately, it's felt like one urgent case after another, so we're especially excited to share this one. ❤️

Remember Otis?
After his mom passed away, her family did everything they could to help him. Because of severe allergies, the only place they could keep him was the garage—but they stuck by him while we searched for the right home.

Then the application we'd been waiting for finally arrived... from New Jersey! 🐾
Now Otis is living his best life with an amazing family who absolutely adores him. Stories like his remind us why we never give up.
