Special Thanks to SHINE:Shining on Autism across the Spectrum Inc and Kerry at The Arc of the United States and all of the other organizations we hooked up with! So many adults are getting tested and finding a sense of relief and comfort in receiving a diagnosis of Autism or other Neurodivergent conditions. This is just one of many story out there. Imagine the stories that don’t get told…

Mark your calendars! Sheriff Greg Countryman and would like to invite you to an Autism Family Fun Day! This family event is autism friendly, free, and open to the public. We will have community resource information, information about Project Lifesaver and our Care Card program, vendors, the Autism Car, Bounce Houses, LEO vehicles, games for the kids, food, and lots of fun! The event will be Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Woodruff Park (1000 Bay Ave). Security will be provided by the MCSO. Additional information to be relayed soon.

Good Day Everyone!

Remember the purpose of GENERAL EDUCATION and SPECIAL EDUCATION.

Both are where teachers are supposed to by law, teach our children. Special Education is special because it is where your child WILL RECEIVE SUPPORT THROUGH AN INDIVIDUAL EDUCATION PLAN (IEP)!

INDIVIDUAL EDUCATION PLANS are important because the set the child up for greatness and learning in a way that supports the child as a whole. This piece of paper and the conversations around this paper guides your child’s educational journey. It is pure documentation based off of critical data that is collected by the teacher. Without data, we don’t know anything to be true.
