Why self defense?

What does the Bible really say about defending ourselves?
What about turning the other cheek?

Our main goal of training is so that we can strengthen harvesters in the field.

The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.

Senseless violence can be used by the enemy to hinder the gospel. Senseless violence like murder, muggings and r**e are not always religiously based on the mission field. However there is always a spiritual element involved that must be navigated with discernment.

Violence is not persecution or martyrdom. Equipping against asocial violence allows the gospel to continue in a community. It allows those who have established missionary community in a healthy way - embracing culture and unique people group character - to thrive.

No matter where a believer is placed, discernment and communion with the Ruach(Spirit) is vital.

There is no way this training doesn't reignite or strengthen that connection so that the few continue their labor in the harvest.

We will break down some of the Bible stories, misconceptions, and theology of self defense in the next coming weeks. Join us in prayer and support and we pray you are encouraged and equipped in your own walk.

Seeing these missionaries take after our training was great in itself.
The greatest feeling of this trip however was watching them immediately connect it to their spiritual walk!

Everything from just our fighting stance all the way through knife and weapon control can be seen through the lense of our walk with God.

Being confident in our student’s ability to square up and go straight through obstacles in their walk or face on a spiritual attack without backing down is why we do this.

We need to make sure our students and missions teams are safe while traveling the world yes, however the biggest obstacles are attacks from the enemy.
We can sit back and little more at ease now knowing these students will face down whatever comes their way, with the strength from our Father!

Our favorite part is watching everyone make the spiritual connection from our physical representation.
Put on the full armor of God and face down the enemy knowing you will prevail!

We made some amazing connections and great friendships during our time in Honduras.

Today we highlight Blossom Creek.

Their heart for pouring into people through community, sustainable farming, and Hospitality was evident and inspiring to say the least!
This wonderful mission is someone we will definitely be partnering with in the future.

We had the opportunity to train some of their leadership while in Honduras and the phrase “natural talent” doesn’t even begin to do them justice!
Absolute athletes with a heart after God.

Friendships, community, and encouragement in the faith is a big part of what we do.
The Key take away from our self defense seminars is never about the violence it takes to protect your self. We strive to show the importance of spiritual resilience through the physical representation of fighting!

The spiritual maturity at Blossom Creek showed as they applied concepts and principles of training and adapted on all levels.
From their skills in class, their immediate action through an unforeseen medical issue, and the passion to pass on the information learned in our program, the guys involved in this mission continued to impress us our entire time there!

This is a connection that will thrive as our ministry grows. We hope to be much more involved with this great team as this year goes on!
