empowers expecting mothers with the support of a doula for prenatal and post-delivery care while helping new moms through postpartum depression counseling, in-home lactation support, and much more. In between those precious, photo-ready moments, though, can be tears and heartache, loneliness, confusion, and feelings of failure. Real moms know being a great mom takes a lot of hard work, sleepless n
ights, and a village of supporters ready to have your back when things get tough. Founded by Jean Prophete, we empower expecting mothers with the support of a doula for prenatal and post-delivery care while helping new moms through postpartum depression counseling, in-home lactation support, and much more. Our nationwide nonprofit organization based in Atlanta, Georgia helps mothers of all ages and backgrounds, with a special focus on supporting low-income teen moms by providing them with free or reduced-cost support services to guide them through the early stages of motherhood and help them get on their feet. In addition to our cornerstone services, we also organize community baby showers, holiday food and toy drives, and family-friendly events designed to strengthen the fabric of our community while building strong families. At Life of a Mom, we believe strong families start with strong moms. We also believe that with a healthy mind and body, a mother is in a better position to build her strong family. We celebrate moms at every stage, lending a comforting shoulder to cry on when they are feeling down. Our doulas and volunteer “Mom Mentors” are ready to give advice without judgment and with a desire to elevate each other on this journey we call motherhood. Our ultimate mission is to build a vibrant village of moms ready to equip other mothers with the knowledge, tools, and support to help their families grow as they become the best version of themselves. if you are a mom or soon-to-be mom looking for support, look no further than Life of a Mom.
