“There are moments in life that forever change your family, and for ours, the Ronald McDonald House has become more than just a place to stay—it has become a place of comfort, hope, and kindness during some of our hardest days.”
These are the words of Krystal, grandmother to Kamden who has Cystic Fibrosis. Kamden’s baby brother, Kove, has also faced health challenges after being born at just 33 weeks. These circumstances led to Kamden’s family needing to stay at Ronald McDonald House Atlanta.
While staying with us, Kamden was going to be turning 3. So, we partnered with Zoo Atlanta to give Kamden a special birthday celebration he wouldn’t forget. 🐅❤️
“For a few precious hours, hospital rooms, medical equipment, and uncertainty were replaced with laughter, animals, adventure, and pure childhood joy. He explored the zoo with the biggest smile on his face and even got to go zip-lining—something he still talks about with excitement. Watching him simply be a happy little boy was a gift our entire family desperately needed,” says Krystal.
“When families are living in survival mode, it’s easy to forget what normal feels like. The Ronald McDonald House reminded us that even in the middle of fear and uncertainty, there is still room for joy, compassion, and unforgettable memories.”
