AIU Cares

AIU Cares We invite YOU to be a part of the Team...because AIU Cares! AIU Cares is more than just a team name - it is a promise! Together we WILL find the CURE!

We are committed to changing lives through education and know that early detection leads to early cure, so we will walk in support of all who are battling breast cancer while celebrating survivors and remembering those who inspire us to find a cure. That's our promise, because AIU Cares!

NEWS FLASH: AIU Cares will be donating their shoes after the 3-Day event to SHOES for AFRICA. Each walker will have at least two pair of shoes for training and the event. Susan G. Komen for the Cure has also agree to put up bins on event to solicit donations of shoes by other participants (over 2,400 walkers expected this year) so they can also be sent to SHOES for AFRICA.

SHOES for AFRICA is a campus volunteer activity in which donated tennis shoes are sent to Africa to allow a child, teenager, or adult to go to school. Most people do not realize it, but the lack of a pair a shoes is often the barrier to an education in Africa. Consistent with AIU's mission of educational outreach to a diverse population, AIU Cares put their feet down to help find a cure and then send their shoes to Africa to help with literacy and educational programs.

You, too, can make a difference!

Consistent with the University’s mission to provide for the varying educational needs of a culturally diverse and geographically dispersed student body with the goal of preparing students academically, personally, and professionally for successful careers, AIU Cares has been working diligently over the past 32 weeks, interacting with the general public every Saturday and Sunday morning – walking over 600 miles since March - to educate the Atlanta community about breast cancer and to help find a cure.

Help AIU Cares reach our goal!
