UPDATE: Tomorrow’s Chili Outreach Info Session is moving to ZOOM due to weather! 🌧️💻

Join us Saturday, October 10 from 10:00–11:30 a.m. to learn more about this year’s Philip Bray Chili Outreach and how you can get involved.

We’re preparing for one of our biggest outreach events of the year, and we need community support in a lot of different ways:

* Volunteers
* Pans of chili and other food donations
* Clothing donations
* Personal care items
* Barbers and beauticians
* Community service providers and organizations
* People willing to organize donation drives
* Monetary donations
* Help with hospitality, activities and guest support

Looking for a way to serve? We’ve got a few opportunities coming up at SafeHouse. SWIPE LEFT 💛

First up: our 2026 Philip Bray Chili Outreach Info Session is tomorrow at 11 AM. This is our biggest block-party-style outreach of the year, and we need the community to help make it happen.

We’re looking for volunteers, pans of chili, clothing donations, monetary donations, barbers, beauticians, personal care services, activities, and more. If you want to be involved, come to the info session tomorrow and learn where you can plug in.

The Chili Outreach itself is November 14th, and our next Volunteer Orientation is October 24th for anyone who wants to serve with SafeHouse more regularly.

We believe God calls us to show up for one another, and there are so many ways to do that. Come serve with us as we support our neighbors experiencing homelessness and extreme poverty with love, dignity, and practical support. ❤️

This was September at SafeHouse. 💛

Every month, we show up with the same goal in mind: to serve our community and help our friends get one step closer to stability.

If you’d like to support the work, our 1982 Campaign is live in our bio- a donation of just $19.82 helps us keep showing up.
This work can look like a hot meal, help getting documents, reconnecting with family, completing a housing assessment, or finally moving into a place of your own.

One person, one step, one day at a time. 💛

You can also get involved through Volunteer Orientation on October 24th or our annual Black Party Chili Outreach on November 14th.

We also have an info session this weekend for anyone who wants to learn more about Chili Outreach. More details on everything are coming soon, but feel free to DM us for more info.

Volunteers are an essential part of what makes our work possible. 💛

That’s why this year, we’re proud to recognize Ms. Barbara Walker as a recipient of our 2026 Good Samaritan Award at the SafeHouse Outreach Annual Gala.

For nearly four years, Ms. Barbara has faithfully volunteered with SafeHouse Outreach three days a week, giving her time and talents to support our team and our friends. Whether she’s answering phones, organizing mail, or simply being a warm and dependable presence, she continues to show up with compassion and consistency.

At a stage in life when many would understandably choose to slow down, Ms. Barbara continues to give her time, energy, and care to others. That kind of commitment is something we never take for granted.

Thank you, Ms. Barbara, for showing us the true heart of a Good Samaritan. 💛

Our work doesn’t happen alone. 💛

SafeHouse Outreach is proud to honor Partners for HOME with our 2026 Champion Award, recognizing a partner whose leadership and commitment have helped strengthen our ability to serve Atlanta’s unhoused community.

Partners for HOME plays an important role in Atlanta’s coordinated response to homelessness, bringing organizations together around outreach, resources, and housing. This year, that work included Downtown Rising, an initiative that helped move hundreds of our unhoused neighbors into stable housing.

Our partnership extends from meeting people where they are through street outreach to helping connect them with Rapid Rehousing and the support they need to stay housed.

City Takers is receiving this year’s Impact Award at the 2026 SafeHouse Outreach Annual Gala. 💛

The Impact Award honors an organization that consistently goes above and beyond to support SafeHouse and makes a meaningful difference in the lives of the friends we serve.

City Takers has done exactly that.

They consistently serve alongside us during Impact Meal every fourth Monday and sometimes even fifth ! They have stepped in to help clean and organize SafeHouse, supported additional service projects, and continue to bring mission teams into our space to serve, lead workshops, and meet real needs.

Their commitment to showing up, serving well, and pouring into our friends does not go unnoticed.

First up in our 2026 Gala honorees: Kiplynn Dobbs and Honor the Homeless, recipients of this year’s Hand-Up Award. 💛

For the past 15 years, Kiplynn and Honor the Homeless have faithfully served alongside SafeHouse Outreach.

Twice every month, they sponsor an Impact Meal — and they don’t just send the food. They show up. They serve. They bring clothing, socks, hygiene supplies and whatever else our friends may need. They sit down, have conversations, pray with people and, most importantly, treat every person they meet with dignity.

That is what the Hand-Up Award represents: people and organizations who consistently show up for our neighbors experiencing homelessness, extreme poverty and housing insecurity and help make the work of SafeHouse possible.

Our 2026 SafeHouse Outreach Annual Gala 9 days away!

Join us October 3rd at The Ritz-Carlton Atlanta for an evening of celebration, community, and impact.

One House. One Mission. One Impact. Building Hope Together.

Doors open at 5:30 PM for our reception and silent auction, with dinner beginning promptly at 7 PM. The evening will include live music, stories of impact, opportunities to support the mission, and time spent alongside people who care deeply about helping Atlantans experiencing homelessness, extreme poverty, and housing insecurity.

This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, helping us continue providing resources, support, and pathways toward greater stability for our friends across Atlanta.
