Behind every data point in AWF's new research, The Status of Women and Youth Mental Health in Metro Atlanta, is a real conversation.

A caregiver. A frontline provider. A grantee staff member doing the daily work.

Our methodology was designed to center those voices, because that's where the most accurate picture of mental health in metro Atlanta lives.

At AWF, our work is guided by the reality that women and girls across metro Atlanta are carrying interconnected challenges every day.

We invest across mental health, economic opportunity, and family stability because that is how women actually live, and that is how meaningful change takes hold.

Women across metro Atlanta are carrying too much with too little help.

AWF's new research, The Status of Women and Youth Mental Health in Metro Atlanta, examines how economic pressure, housing instability, caregiving demands, and fragmented systems shape mental well-being for women and girls across Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton, and Gwinnett Counties.

The findings are clear, and the path forward is within reach. AWF is committed to translating these insights into real, lasting change across our region.

The challenges are real. So are the solutions. Learn more here:

Today we pause to honor the women and men who gave their lives in service to this country.

Women have always fought bravely and served with distinction in official and unofficial military capacities in times of war and peace.

On this Memorial Day, AWF honors the lives of those who served and sacrificed, as well as the sacrifices and support provided by their loved ones. 💛🇺🇸

The Inspire Atlanta Class of 2026 came in as accomplished professionals. They're leaving as something more.

Over the course of this program, these women deepened their understanding of the challenges facing women and girls across metro Atlanta, developed as community leaders and advocates, and raised critical funds to fuel lasting change.

As conversations around charitable giving continue to grow and evolve, we know many in our community are looking for resources to better understand the philanthropic landscape — including Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs).

We recently came across this article from The Wall Street Journal and thought it offered helpful insight into the current conversations surrounding DAFs, charitable giving, and the future of philanthropy.

At the Atlanta Women’s Foundation, we’re continually inspired by the generosity of individuals, families, and partners who choose to invest in women and girls across metro Atlanta — including many who give through DAFs.

As always, we believe informed giving is powerful giving, and we’re proud to be part of a community committed to learning, growing, and creating meaningful impact together.

Stable housing is a critical piece of economic mobility.

When housing is secure, everything else becomes more possible, from education to employment to overall wellbeing.

That’s why AWF invests in programs that help women and families access the resources they need to create lasting stability, including support that strengthens housing security. 💛
