Georgia Lawyers for the Arts Georgia Lawyers for the Arts (GLA) provides legal and educational services to artists and arts organizations in Georgia. GLA is committed to helping artists.

GLA provides education and legal services to artists and arts organizations through our resource library, seminars, and our network of volunteer and member attorneys. Our library of reference materials can answer many questions artists and arts organizations have without needing to speak to an attorney. Anyone may make an appointment to come to the office and read over the materials in our resourc

e library. We also provide artists and arts organizations with seminars to extend their knowledge of related legal issues as well as providing an opportunity to network with fellow artists and members of the legal community interested in the arts. Should our seminars and library of materials not fully answer an artist's question, we have a roster of attorneys who are willing to discuss and offer advice to artists and arts organizations on specific legal issues related to their art or arts organization. We provide pro bono legal assistance to artists whose household income meets specific requirements. We also provide paid referrals for clients who do not meet the pro bono requirements. Know any artists who have questions about copyright or trademark law, or a question about a simple contract? Georgia Lawyers for the Arts' March Legal Clinic with attorneys from the law firm of Troutman Pepper Locke LLP and in-house counsel from JPMorganChase will take place on March 17, 2026, from 2:30 pm – 3:45 pm.

The Clinic will give artist members 30 minutes to speak with an attorney to discuss copyright, trademark, and simple contract questions. You must be a member of Georgia Lawyers for the Arts and make an appointment in advance to attend the Clinic.
