A big thank you to 37 volunteers from The JW Collection spent last Friday giving back at a HomeAid Care Day at The Center for Children & Young Adults (CCYA)! 🛠️

The team tackled a variety of projects to help improve the space for the children and young adults CCYA serves, including:

• Building a new pergola, with labor generously donated by Deck Designs
• Clearing out old gardens and tackling other landscaping needs
• Priming interior walls for painting
• Removing old tile flooring in the laundry room

A special thank you to BFS for donating the lumber for the new pergola!

On Friday, 40 volunteers from Fischer Homes came together to pack 1,000 HomeAid CareKits!

This CareKit assembly was especially meaningful as these kits will be distributed to the Albany, GA area for the first time, with I&A Divyne Purpose as the recipient. The hygiene essentials will provide immediate support to families in need through the organization’s outreach initiatives.

A group of 15 volunteers packed 500 CareKits that were distributed to first-time HomeAid CareKit recipient, Community Movement Awareness, Inc. The organization empowers youth, families, and communities through education, advocacy, and essential resources while bridging gaps for brighter futures.

HomeAid Georgia was honored to moderate the Developer Roundtable at the GIPPC Faith-Based Community Development Symposium on September 17!

The discussion focused on demystifying the reliance on state funding to get single-family home projects funded, including practical models for Faith-Based Organization's developer partnerships.

Panelists included:
• Joel Dixon, Principal, Urban Oasis
• Jim Jacobi, Founder & CEO, Parkland Communities
• Jordon Tench, P.E., Director of Land Acquisition & Development, O’Dwyer Properties

The learning continued that afternoon with Development 101, a breakout session led by Jordon Tench, P.E. with O’Dwyer Properties and Myles Cardenas with Taylor Morrison.

We’re grateful to be part of conversations that help connect faith-based organizations with the knowledge and resources they need to create more housing opportunities in their communities.

On September 18, a group of 38 volunteers from DRB Homes, CBRE, and Sherwin-Williams came together for a HomeAid Georgia Care Day at Rainbow Village, tackling interior painting at the organization’s Community Center.

The timing couldn’t be better as Rainbow Village is preparing to expand and serve twice as many families.

Last week, volunteers from the Home Builder Finance Team at Regions Bank came together to assemble 500 HomeAid CareKits filled with essential hygiene items. The CareKits were distributed to The Place, which helps individuals and families meet immediate basic needs while working toward long-term self-sufficiency.
