As we conclude our PTG series this week, we want veterans and first responders to know that trauma does not have to define what comes next.

Posttraumatic Growth reminds us that healing, purpose, connection, and strength can emerge through the struggle with adversity. While every journey looks different, growth often begins with a single step: reaching out for support.

Avalon Action Alliance helps connect veterans and first responders to trusted programs across our alliance network, including The Big Red Barn Retreat, where warriors can find community, shared experiences, and opportunities for growth alongside others who understand.

Finding the right support can change the course of a life.

Growth often begins when people realize they are not alone.

For many veterans and first responders, trauma can lead to isolation, withdrawal, and a sense of disconnection from family, friends, and community. One of the most powerful catalysts for growth is realizing you are not alone.

At The Big Red Barn Retreat veterans and first responders come together in a supportive environment where connection replaces isolation. These relationships can help participants gain new perspectives, build resilience, and take meaningful steps toward posttraumatic growth.

Because struggle doesn't have to be the end of the story.

Posttraumatic Growth (PTG) is the positive psychological change that can occur through the struggle with trauma.

It doesn't mean the challenges disappear. It means people can emerge with greater strength, deeper relationships, renewed purpose, and new possibilities.

Growth looks different for everyone, but no one should have to navigate the journey alone.

Follow along this week as we explore PTG and how connection, community, and support can help create opportunities for growth after trauma. Because struggle doesn't have to be the end of the story.

At Avalon Action Alliance we help connect veterans and first responders to trusted programs and care across our alliance network. We're proud to work along trusted partners like The Big Red Barn Retreat, where participants discover practical tools that and a supportive community to help them thrive after adversity.

More than 250 years of service. One enduring symbol of freedom.

Today, we celebrate the birthday of the United States Army and observe Flag Day.

On June 14, 1775, the Continental Congress established the Continental Army, creating what would become the oldest branch of the U.S. military. Two years later, on June 14, 1777, Congress adopted the Stars and Stripes as the official flag of the United States.

Together, these milestones remind us of the courage, sacrifice, and ideals that have shaped our nation for generations.

Avalon Action Alliance is proud to serve veterans and first responders who continue to demonstrate strength, resilience, and commitment long after their time in uniform.

Thank you to all who have served.

Today is National Posttraumatic Growth Day, established by Boulder Crest Foundation to recognize that struggle doesn’t have to be the end of the story.

The science of PTG demonstrates that when we are forced to reflect on our lives and make sense of the challenges caused by trauma, our struggles can become a catalyst for change.

To celebrate PTG Day, Boulder Crest Foundation is launching new ways to explore the science, stories, and future of Posttraumatic Growth. Check out their latest video and new episode of the Struggle Well Podcast. https://youtu.be/giLHuNH5r8M?si=AGZIVBIWOe5PYpWl

Avalon Action Alliance connects veterans and first responders to trusted partners and programs, including The Big Red Barn Retreat, where warriors can find community, shared experiences, and opportunities for growth.

Throughout next week, we'll explore what PTG is, why it matters, and how connection can help create opportunities for growth after trauma.

Women veterans have served with courage in every generation, often overcoming obstacles while carrying the same commitment to mission, country, and those serving beside them.

Their stories reflect strength, sacrifice, leadership, and resilience. They also remind us that support after service matters.

At Avalon Action Alliance, we are proud to stand alongside women veterans by helping connect them to life-changing programs for post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury and substance abuse.

To every woman veteran: Your service matters. Your story matters. And your continued well-being matters.

Thank you for all you have given in service to our nation.

For many veterans and first responders, the hardest part isn't recognizing they need support, it's knowing where to start.

Through Warrior PATHH, participants connect with fellow warriors who have walked similar paths and understand the challenges they face.

With peer support, practical tools, and a community that stays connected long after the program ends, they discover that struggle doesn't have to be the end of the story.

As Jack's story reminds us, healing isn't about returning to who you were before trauma, it's about finding a path forward and learning to thrive again.

Eighty-two years ago, young men stepped onto the shores of Normandy knowing many would never return home.

Facing impossible odds, they advanced with a commitment to something greater than themselves, leaving a legacy of courage, service, and sacrifice that continues to inspire generations.

Today, we remember the heroes of D-Day, honor those who gave everything in defense of freedom, and reflect on the generations of warriors who have carried that legacy forward.

PTS(D) is not a “disorder.”

June is PTS(D) Awareness Month, a time to raise understanding, break stigma, and remind veterans and first responders that they are not alone in the invisible wounds they carry.

Post-traumatic stress is not always visible. It can show up in ways people may not immediately recognize, through withdrawal, emotional exhaustion, irritability, avoidance, or silence.

What others see on the surface may actually be someone struggling beneath the weight of trauma, addiction, or emotional overload while trying to keep moving forward.

Healing starts with understanding.

At , we believe warriors deserve the right care at the right time. Through our national alliance of trusted partners, we help connect veterans and first responders to support for post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, and substance abuse.

No warrior should have to walk this journey alone.

As we wrap up Mental Health Awareness Month, we've shared real words from veterans and first responders who found support, connection, and a path forward.

Their stories are reminders that healing is possible, asking for help is a sign of strength, and no one should have to carry the invisible wounds of service alone.

At Avalon Action Alliance, we connect veterans and first responders to trusted programs for post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, and substance abuse.

If you or someone you know is struggling, drop a 💚 below.

Because the most important message of this month is also the simplest: YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
