Application Deadline approaching!�AVA Artist-in-Residence�July 1 - December 31, 2026. ��Astoria Visual Arts invites artists residing in Clatsop or Pacific County to apply to be AVA’s next artist-in-residence! One artist will be selected to receive a rent-free studio space at the Astoria Studio Collective, located at 372 10th Street in Astoria, for a period of six months. Artists working in any media are eligible to apply. The deadline for applications is June 10.��The AVA a-i-r program is designed to encourage the creative, intellectual, and professional growth of local artists. Finalists are chosen on the basis of merit and need by an independent selection panel of arts professionals and supporters. Artists who have applied in the past may reapply with an updated portfolio and statement reflecting updates and changes.��AVA has supported 39 artists through this program since 2015, made possible by AVA Members who value and support a strong arts community.��Learn how to apply at https://astoriavisualarts.org/ava-air

AVA's annual 8X8 fundraiser is open for one more weekend! The caliber of work is incredible! Come try your luck and bid on work by your favorite artists! Funds raised support AVA's free programming including exhibits, residencies and art education for youth. 💚🌱 Bidding ends Sunday, June 7th at 2:59pm.

This event was the first chance to utilize the buy-it-now option to purchase 8X8s and many pieces did find forever homes. But there are still over 100 more! Bidding will remain open through June 7 at 2:59pm. Good luck, everyone! 💚🥳

OPENING TODAY! Join us from 5-8pm today for the opening of The 8X8 Show - 8X8: Bring a Date! Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online at astoriavisualarts.org/8x8-2026 or at the door. Enjoy music by The Beat Greens, art projects with Art Room and light fare and beverages. This is the first chance to buy-it-now for 8X8 silent auction artwork, and dang, the work is so good!!! All ceramic work and pieces made by Astoria High School students are a fundraiser for supplies for their art program. Supplies are so important to a great art program! Thanks so much for supporting more access for kids to make art!! The Student Show closes today, May 24th at 3:00pm.
