Being a sensitive soul with a desire to exist & create in beauty alone, yet so often, by accident, choice, circumstance & chaos, getting thrust into some truly hellish situations. And again so recently, it’s hard to reconcile artistic endeavors against the backdrop of hell.

I’m actually a silly person, but the world is so ridiculous, how do you mock insanity? I feel like this guy & Jacques Vaché. I get why & how he could sit atop the trenches in WWI w/ his back turned to the enemy writing a letter to Breton pondering “omour” his play on the meanings & relationship of humor & armor.

War & travels make strange & beautiful friendships. M & I met up with Kristaps & Krastin from The Eastern Border Podcast in Warsaw. They had just come from Kyiv, Bucha & Odessa among other places inside & on the way to and from reporting on the War in Ukraine. Kristaps was the first person, the everyday person, and the last person I talked to besides my wife about everything going on under the sun in Ukraine and Russia before & during the war. I’m thankful we were able to get drunk on a park bench in the sun & continue in a Twins Peaks themed bar all day.
