Calling all North Coast Farmers! We are offering a FREE Webinar on October 15th as well as discounted 2-part short courses at 3 locations throughout November.

Reliable water access throughout the growing season is an increasing concern, even for coastal farmers. Soil moisture sensors can be a helpful tool for making management decisions related to water use and water use efficiency on farms.

By attending a short course at Astoria, Clatskanie or Tillamook, participating farms will get a chance to build a set of three (3) Watermark sensors and receive a manual sensor reader for collecting and interpreting real time soil moisture data.

Participants should plan to attend both parts 1 and 2 of the sort courses.
Course content will be the same at all locations.

Register for the webinar at beav.es/SMS101 and register for the short courses at beav.es/sen.

Join Oregon State Extension Master Gardeners this Saturday as we walk with OSU Urban Forestry Specialist, Jennifer Killian, to some of the most interesting trees around Astoria! Listen, learn and ask questions as we visit a giant sequoia at the Flavel House, a downed old growth Douglas-fir, the biggest rhododendron in town, and many more of the other eye-catching trees of Astoria!

We will be walking a 1.5-mile loop starting and ending at the Flavel House. It will be over mostly even terrain with standings stop as we listen to our speaker, so wear your walking shoes, pack your water bottle and come with us to explore urban forestry in Astoria!
