This month Chef Andy visited the Astoria Library to demonstrate how one might use the tools available at the Library’s new Library of Things!

Using KitchenAid attachments, Andy ground meat, chopped vegetables, and pressed noodles for a delicious Tagliatelle alla Bolognese dish for attendees to sample–it was a HIT.

Who knew homemade pasta could be so accessible? We are determined to get the word out on this community resource and to put on more cooking demonstrations soon, stay tuned!

Late to the garden this year?

More like right on time to be planting starts!

Our online market is currently replete with starts--we're talking tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, kale, sugar snap peas, squash, tea herbs, culinary herbs, native flowers, decorative flowers, it's a regular plant party!

In addition to starts we have seeds galore for culinary herbs, edible flowers, tea herbs, flowers, and beans. 🌿🌻🌱

Market ordering starts each week at 9am on Sunday and closes Tuesday at midnight. Pick up is from 3-7pm Thursdays at our location at 1450 Exchange Street, Astoria OR.

We are looking for two special persons to join our small team!

Change is in the air—
With the introduction of the Health Related Social Needs (HRSN) program for fruit, vegetable and pantry essentials, we foresee an increase in the demand for local food.

Cue you, a passionate human eager to jump into a growing program and build together.

We’re looking for a community-minded advocate to serve as our new Producer Support Liaison. In this role, you’ll work directly with local farmers and fishers to help get more fresh food onto local plates. This Astoria-based position is 25 hours a week at $39,000 per year and comes with health benefits and paid time off. Applications due April 16th.

We also need a Food Equity Navigator to take our food access work to the next level. You’ll lead the way in adding new healthcare-connected benefits to our current program—handling everything from managing referrals to getting fresh food into the hands of our neighbors. This full-time role is based in Astoria at $65,000 per year and includes comprehensive healthcare. Applications due April 12th.
