Wildlife Center of the North Coast

Wildlife Center of the North Coast We provide rescue, care and compassion for injured, sick and orphaned wildlife on the Oregon Coast. We receive an average of 2,000 patients annually.

Wildlife Center of the North Coast (WCNC) is a registered non-profit organization based in Astoria, Oregon. WCNC is the only wildlife care hospital on the Central and North Oregon coast. A variety of seabirds, raptors, ducks, songbirds and mammals come through our doors every year, each in need of some kind of care. Whether injured, sick, starving or orphaned, we work hard to take care of their ev

ery need, get them healthy and release them back into the wild where they belong. We have a small, dedicated staff and depend on our amazing volunteer team and generous friends like you to continue the life-saving work we love. WCNC relies on public donations and grants to fund our daily operations.

🦅We are pleased to announce the first phase of our new large-scale flight enclosure is complete. The contractor toiled away during some of our recent hottest days and the donated greenhouse-style frame is up. Woot!

✨Included features:
-expanded flight space for movement and exercise
-durable materials to withstand our coastal climate
-heavy-duty aviary netting
-double-entry vestibule for safe access and security
-a covered viewing area for year-round education

🙏Thank you to our generous financial and in-kind donors who have gotten the project this far. We are still looking to fund accessories, a small pool and perches! Any new donors are much-appreciated and funds will be put to immediate use.

We've Got a Grassy Problem! 🌱

We're looking for a dedicated Facilities Volunteer to help keep our grass under control during the summer months.

Because some of our ambassadors are sensitive to noise and disturbance, this volunteer should be able to maintain a regular mowing schedule to help us plan around the needs of our residents.

If you enjoy working outdoors and want to make a direct impact on wildlife care, we'd love to hear from you!

📧 Contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Annie, at [email protected] for more information. 🦉🐾

📣We’re excited to share that we have received a generous $20,000 grant from the Dryden Family Foundation!

😀This vital funding will help us inspire the next generation of conservationists while strengthening wildlife rehabilitation resources across our region. Grant support will directly fund our 2026 Junior Naturalist Summer Camps, ecological teachings and Education Program initiatives, and the construction of a large new bird flight enclosure on our property.

🍎🎒Thanks to the Dryden Family Foundation’s investment in wildlife and environmental education, we can continue providing meaningful learning opportunities for youth while improving care and rehabilitation outcomes for the 1,000+ wild animals that come through our doors each year 🦉🦆

Thank you, Dryden Family Foundation, for helping us build a brighter future for wildlife and our community! 🦅🌿
