Most Astorians know that finding adequate housing here is a challenge. We are a new grassroots group interested in gaining local control over the housing crisis in our town. We will be sharing our proposal for an Empty Homes Tax and Community Housing Fund in two February meetings.

We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming community meetings:

February 3rd 6pm Anita Building (1312 Commercial)
February 7th 2pm Astoria Public Library (450 10th St)

📣 Hey you guys!! With Goonies weekend on the horizon, it couldn’t be a better time to talk about how Astoria’s year-round residents and strong sense of community are a big part of what makes this such a special place. How do vacation homes that sit empty most of the year impact residents? What can be done to help encourage more of these homes to become part of the housing supply? What policy changes have worked in other cities to help address the housing shortage? Special guest Gil Kelley, an experienced urban planner, will be joining the Astoria Housing Alliance for a discussion on June 17. We hope you will join us!
