A few weeks may have passed, but we are still feeling the love from our community!

Second Chance Fest 2026 was an incredible day. We witnessed jobs being offered on the spot, children laughing and playing in the bounce houses, bikes flying around the pump track, plates of meatloaf and fried crab being passed around, books being dropped off to be sent behind bars, and most importantly, reentry resources being offered without stigma.

The icing on top of all of it was the $500 check that was able to be cut for from the sponsorships and donations raised!

One of our community partners shared “this is what heaven looks like!” We can only exist if our community is willing to support us. THANK YOU to the many hands involved in working to create a piece of heaven on Earth!

Last weekend we had the joy of spending the day at Second Chance Fest: Hope on Haywood.

We loved reconnecting with Gene Ettison, who hand prints all of NCCADP’s t-shirts, and spending time with our friends at Deep Time, a coffee roastery creating employment, support, and spiritual community with people impacted by incarceration.

Second chances mean stronger communities!
