A Tenant's Circle is a space for tenants who are organizing where they live to come together and share stories, discuss strategy and most important, to build a strong network of connected communities.

Are you tired of landords taking advantage of renters? The landlord-tenant laws in NC massively benefit the landlords with very few protection for renters. We are organizing to change that!

Join us on Tuesday, 4/28, at Trinity UMC at 6:30pm to find out what we're up to and how you can get involved.

We will be launching our No Rent for Slumlords campaign very soon so come out and help get this campaign going!

We always have free dinner (vegan/gluten-free) for everyone.

Childcare and transportation available by request. If you need either of those, please DM us!

We’ll be voting on our treasurers, and then breaking into specific committee groups: Canvassing, Communications & Outreach, & Education. Whether you’ve been to a meeting before, or if this is your first one—please come have dinner, share your voice, and let’s plan this fight together! We have power when we stand together as tenants, and we all deserve safe and stable places to live!

CALL FOR ACTION!
On October 11th, while canvassing with tenants at Evergreen Ridge Apartments in Asheville, Jen Hampton, Asheville Area Tenant Union’s Lead Organizer - had her car set on fire and destroyed. She was there to organize with tenants who have raised concerns about mold and other serious issues in the building.

AATU is raising funds to support Jen Hampton during this time and for future organizer’s safety and recovery. Use the link in our bio to donate to this fundraiser.

Tenants have a First Amendment right to organize to improve the conditions of their housing, but this kind of intimidation prevents them from exercising that right! We are asking Evergreen Ridge Apartments to sign an agreement to not engage in any retaliation or intimidation that interferes with tenants ability to organize with their neighbors and advocate for what they need.
