It takes a village to help dogs find their forever families — and this Saturday, we need yours.

We're looking for 25 volunteer handlers and several drivers to help make our 12–2 PM adoption event at PetSmart Alexandria (3351 Richmond Highway) a success.

A heartfelt thank you to Greater Good Charities for their incredible generosity and partnership. Thanks to their recent donation of NexGard and Frontline, community animals in Puerto Rico received essential parasite prevention during last week's vaccine clinic — helping families in underserved communities keep their beloved pets healthier, safer, and protected from preventable diseases.

Access to veterinary care and preventive medicine can be challenging for many families, and support like this makes a real difference. Rain thought she found her forever when she was adopted a week ago, but she started to break with a severe upper respiratory infection that her adopters couldn't manage. Two nights ago, they brought her to our partner Friendship Hospital for Animals and asked us to take over her care. Today, after a few days without eating, Friendship recommended starting her on a feeding tube until she is able to eat on her own again. As of Wednesday morning, Rain's hospital bill is more than $4,000. We need YOUR HELP to continue her treatment.
