Sea of Solidarity Sea of Solidarity, is a non-profit, non-political, non-sectarian aid and relief organization dedicated to responding to the needs of displaced people.

Sea of Solidarity (SoS) was founded by people who went to Lesvos and witnessed a humanitarian crisis, with thousands of people arriving every day. We found our normal lives interrupted. We felt compelled to volunteer to help save lives. With no religious, political, or ethnic affiliation, we felt the need to help those coming off the boats hungry, cold, and frightened. The crisis motivated us to o

rganize where governments and NGOs are not present before thousands more die. Our operating principles are to optimized the money raised to go directly to the feeding and caring of the refugees. There are no paid employees of SoS. We pay for our own travel expenses when we go to volunteer. Where possible, we will buy things directly with the vendors (e.g. IsoBox, cooking fuel, etc.) for transparency. We will only donate money to people and organizations whom we have seen directly helping refugees.
