ASD Indigenous Education Welcome to the official page for the Anchorage School District's
Indigenous Education We receive funding from two sources: the U.S.

ASD's Indigenous Program has staff in schools across the district who concentrate their efforts on academic assistance, counseling and cultural enrichment. Department of Education under Title VI - Indian, Native Hawaiian and Alaska Native Education and from the Anchorage School District for Native Education.

CITC is now welcoming applications for the Johnson O'Malley Back to School Scholarship applications from today (August 1, 2026) until August 8, 2026. Parents of Alaska Native or American Indian children who are tribally enrolled, have a tribally enrolled parent or grandparent, or are at least 1/4 Alaska Native and/or American Indian and attending an Anchorage School District school next year are eligible to receive a one-time, $100 payment to use in support of back-to-school-related costs.

Registration is open for the 2026 Gui Kima Summer Intensive! Project Gui Kima will be facilitating a Summer Intensive on APU campus from Tuesday, July 28th to Thursday, July 30th. Space is still available for up to 50 current 9th-12th grade Indigenous students in the Anchorage School District.
-Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Provided by APU
-Hands-on Cultural Activities and Elder Talking Circles
-Encouraging College and Career Readiness
