Speaking of those who repent, believe, and do righteous deeds, Allah says: "For them, Allah will replace their evil deeds with good deeds" (Al-Furqan 25:70).

By Allah's generosity, the record of a person who truly turns back can be rewritten in his favor.

Allah divided mercy into one hundred parts, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said. He kept ninety-nine with Himself and sent down one. From that single part, all creatures show mercy to one another, even the mare that lifts her hoof so she does not hurt her foal (Bukhari, Muslim).

The other ninety-nine are being kept for the Day of Judgment.

"When you enter houses, greet one another with a greeting from Allah, blessed and good" (An-Nur 24:61).

When the house was empty, Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) would say: "Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah" (Al-Adab al-Mufrad). A small habit that brings the remembrance of Allah into the home the moment you arrive.

'Abdullah bin 'Amr (RA) narrated that: the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "It is among the greatest of sins that a man should curse his parents." They said: "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! Does a man curse his parents?" He said: "Yes. He verbally abuses the father of a man, who in turn, verbally abuses his father, and he (retaliates and) curses his mother, so he curses his mother."

Of all the money a person spends, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said the greatest reward is in what he spends on his own family (Muslim).

Groceries, school fees, the electricity bill. Spent with the intention of pleasing Allah, the ordinary costs of a home become sadaqah. Renew that intention the next time you pay for something at home.

Abu Shuraih Al-'Adawf (RA) said: "My eyes saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and my ears heard him speaking when he was speaking and he said: 'Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, then let him honour his guest with his reward.' They said: 'What is the reward?' He said: ' A day and a night.' He said: 'And hospitality is for three days, whatever is beyond that is charity. And whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, then let him say what is good or keep silent."

Narrated Abu Huraira (RA): The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The one who looks after a widow or a poor person is like a Mujahid (warrior) who fights for Allah's Cause, or like him who performs prayers all the night and fasts all the day."
