We had a great time participating in Career Jam, hosted by Hudson Valley Community College, where students explored career opportunities and connected with local employers.

Our Capital Region Advance 2 Apprenticeship team introduced students to pathways into advanced manufacturing careers for individuals age 17½ and older. One of the highlights was giving students the chance to try on semiconductor manufacturing "bunny suits," offering a hands-on look at the environments where the microchips that power our daily lives are made.

A special thank you to our signatory partner GlobalFoundries for inviting us to table alongside their team and helping students gain a firsthand look at careers in the semiconductor industry. And thank you to Aarika Van Amburgh for inviting us to attend a fun event at at HVCC!

Events like Career Jam play an important role in connecting students with local employers, expanding career awareness, and helping the next generation imagine their future. We look forward to seeing some of these students become the next generation of advanced manufacturing talent in our region!

As part of Manufacturing Day on October 2, we're proud to kick off a series of visits highlighting the manufacturing partners that help make the Capital Region Advance 2 Apprenticeship program possible.

Throughout the coming weeks, our participants will have opportunities to explore advanced manufacturing careers firsthand by visiting employers across our region. These experiences help students connect classroom learning with real-world career pathways while showcasing the incredible companies creating opportunity in our communities.

Our first stop was Greno Industries, and we're grateful to their team for welcoming our newest cohort and sharing insights into modern manufacturing. We also appreciate the support of Patrisia Sheremeta, SPHR and everyone who helped make the visit meaningful.

A special thank you as well to Angelo Santabarbara for joining us and for his continued support of workforce development and manufacturing career pathways!
