Police Conference of New York President Michael O'Meara welcomes National Association of Police Organizations (NAPO) President Mick McHale to the PCNY 100 Year Seminar Reception Sunday evening.

At the Monday General Membership meeting President McHale will be presented the the Police Conference of New York Floyd Holloway Sr. Distinguished Service Award for his years of advocating for law enforcement nationwide.

President McHale also serves as Florida Police Benevolent Association Executive Vice President as well as President of their Southwest Florida Chapter.

President O'Meara also serves as National Association of Police Organizations (NAPO) Legislative Director and is the retired President of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police Benevolent Association.

Today was solemn and bittersweet.

We paid our respects to those that lost their lives and their families on September 11, 2001 and those that have succumbed to 9/11 related illnesses. In a twist of faith I received word this morning that Governor Hochul will sign into law a legislative bill I spent good deal of time along with several others to enable widow of a police officer who succumbed to 9/11 illness receive her husbands benefits.
