Price Chopper's Golub Foundation Sensory Ro

om is dedicated to sensory experiences designed specifically to help individuals feel calm, supported and focused. Community Space:

The Community Space is reflective of what the community wants. You help decide what we do! We proudly collaborate to host classes and activities. We also invite local nonprofits to host events for our community and/or utilize space at our site for their activities and events. Classes/activities include board games, art, life skills plus weekly favorites:
1:1 fitness on Mondays & Wednesdays. Zumba most Sundays. Yoga on most Saturdays. We also have several free clubs including Anime, Pokémon, Legos, DnD, Minecraft and Kindness. Our Social Groups are Tween Scene, Teen Takeover and Young Adult Connect (YAC). In short, social, recreational and lifestyle to build friendships and/or just have fun! Have an idea? The tiny house in our children's room is a perfect getaway for our smallest library guests (and, of course, their stuffed animal companions). Special thanks to our friends at Bring On The Spectrum for the spectacular bubble wall!

While in Schenectady on Sunday for their awesome farmer's market, we visited a space at the Schenectady County Public Library

Great guide explaining resources there, headquartered in the teen space (adjacent to children's area). Additional resources available through their adult services program.

Many children on the spectrum have a natural affinity for water. The sensory aspects of swimming—the soothing feel of water, the calming rhythm of movement—make it an ideal activity for neurodiverse children. However, the statistics are sobering: children on the spectrum are at a much higher risk of drowning than their neurotypical peers. That’s why swim safety and lessons are so essential.
