Your continued support keeps our summer programs accessible for all.🧡

Back in summer of 2024, an audience of all ages enjoyed a colorful and creative outdoor puppet show at Jean Sweeney Park for free.😍
Equal parts whimsical fairy tale, outer-space odyssey, and slap-stick clown show, Or So It Would Seam was filled to the brim with giant puppets, original storytelling, and live music, featuring a cast of 13 performers/musicians from String & Shadow Puppet Theater.

It was such a wonderful turnout that String & Shadow Puppet Theater are returning on August 14th! (save the date!)🥳

We invite you to be part of our $20K goal to make arts accessible for all—give today using the link attached. No gift amount is too small, we truly appreciate all your support!🧡 https://www.rhyt

📣 Unity Fest artist Spotlight: Mufaro weDzimbahwe! 📣

Mufaro weDzimbahwe (“moo-far-oh way zim-bah-way”) is an electric ensemble, which pays homage to the music of Zimbabwe. The name of the band reflects the joy of the music from Zimbabwe.

Inspired by mbira music and the electrified sounds of the great artists before them – Thomas Mapfumo, Robson Banda, Oliver Mtukudzi – Mufaro weDzimbahwe is co-led by husband and wife team Salani Wamkanganise & Kelly Takunda Orphan. Salani is a cultural music ambassador from Zimbabwe and Kelly grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and went to school in Zimbabwe and has a long relationship with traditional musicians since 1994. The band also features Kudzie Jambwa on drums and marimba.

We can't wait to welcome Mufaro weDzimbahwe on stage!🎉🎉
