La Manila Dance Ambassadors and Rondalla Recently represented Philippines in the 1st ever Manila International Dance Festival

Binasuan is a lively and skillful folk dance from Bayambang, Pangasinan. Its name comes from baso, meaning โ€œdrinking glass.โ€ Dancers gracefully balance glasses filled with liquid on their heads and hands while performing intricate movements, turns, and floorwork. The dance showcases remarkable balance, coordination, and grace and is traditionally associated with festive celebrations and social gatherings.

The 4th Manila International Dance Festival (MIDFest 2026) proudly enters a new chapter in its continuing mission to promote cultural exchange, artistic excellence, and global friendship through dance.

We are honored to announce the appointment of Ronald Vincent Soliven as the Executive Director of the 4th Manila International Dance Festival (MIDFest 2026).

A respected cultural leader, Ronald Vincent Soliven also serves as the Artistic Director and Choreographer of the Simeona F. Chanyungco Lahing Kayumanggi Mananayaw ng Marikina, where he has dedicated his career to preserving, promoting, and innovating Philippine folk dance and cultural heritage.

With his wealth of experience, visionary leadership, and unwavering commitment to the arts, MIDFest looks forward to reaching greater heights as we continue to connect artists, celebrate cultures, and inspire communities from around the world.
