𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: On June 15, 2026, Race to Net Zero Philippines is joined by the Pro Ocean Philippines, represented by Founder & CEO Mr. Bastian Günther, Co-Founder Mr. Lukas Roth, and Business Development Manager Ms. Lea Röder to explore potential collaboration on ocean clean-up initiatives that can help address ocean and marine pollution in the Philippines.

The discussion focused on opportunities to strengthen coastal and ocean protection improved waste collection systems, data-driven monitoring, and innovative financing mechanisms. It also explored ways in engaging stakeholders in scaling practical solutions that prevent waste leakage into waterways and coastal ecosystems.

With an MRV platform being developed by Mr. Uynghiem Ngo, RTNZ Technology Partner, the discussion further explored how traceability and impact measurement could support environmental initiatives like waste reduction projects.

Representing RTNZ PH were Ms. Dawn Cabigon, Campaign Lead, and Mr. Jon Alea, Programs and Development Officer.

As RTNZ PH advances its mission to accelerate climate action, the organization continues to engage partners across sectors to develop scalable and impactful environmental solutions.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: Race to Net Zero Philippines and Iloilo City Explore Pathways to Advance Cities Race to Zero

Race to Net Zero Philippines (RTNZ PH), together with the ECCP - European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, held a strategic meeting with the Iloilo City Government led by Hon. Raisa Treñas on June 8, 2026, to explore opportunities for Iloilo City to participate in the Cities Race to Zero initiative — a global campaign that mobilizes cities to accelerate climate action, strengthen resilience, and advance the transition toward a net-zero future.

The discussion marks an important milestone in expanding local government participation in the Race to Zero movement in the Philippines. As the climate sustainability arm of ECCP and the official national accelerator of the UN-backed Race to Zero campaign, RTNZ PH continues to work with cities, institutions, and stakeholders to accelerate climate leadership and translate global climate ambitions into measurable local action.

From active mobility and renewable energy initiatives to river rehabilitation, mangrove restoration, waste reduction, and water security efforts, Iloilo City is well-positioned to demonstrate how climate action can be integrated into urban development, economic growth, and community well-being.

The strategic meeting demonstrated that achieving a net-zero future requires action not only from businesses and institutions, but also from cities that are at the forefront of delivering solutions that directly impact communities.

On June 4, 2026, Race to Net Zero Philippines (RTNZ PH) joined the ECCP - European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines Luncheon Meeting on Circular Economy with Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto. As a partner of the event, RTNZ PH was honored to contribute to the dialogue through Campaign Lead Ms. Dawn Cabigon, who joined fellow leaders from the public and private sectors in exploring practical pathways toward a more resilient circular economy framework.

The discussion emphasized the urgent need for the Philippines to move beyond awareness and translate climate commitments into concrete, measurable action. 𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: During the LNU DICT Podcast: Digital Climate Futures, Race to Net Zero Philippines Campaign Lead Ms. Dawn Cabigon joined leaders from government and the digital sector to discuss the critical intersection of climate action, governance, technology, and community empowerment.

During the session, Ms. Cabigon emphasized that the Philippines can no longer afford to be a passive observer in the climate crisis. As one of the world's most disaster-prone countries, climate action must be translated into concrete commitments and measurable results.

As the official Philippine platform of the UN-backed Race to Zero campaign, Race to Net Zero Philippines continues to mobilize organizations across sectors to strengthen climate resilience at the local level, build transparent and accountable climate action.
