Domain Name Commission We oversee the .nz domain name space —protecting the rights and interests of those who use it. spam, phishing, or possible breaches of New Zealand legislation).

Send us your enquiries about matters ending in .nz to [email protected]. Our role includes authorising .nz registrars, developing and maintaining the policies that underpin the .nz domain name space and
administering a dispute resolution service. We offer advice on: complaints about registrars not abiding by .nz policies, incorrect domain name registration information and disputes over who should be

the registrant of a .nz domain name. We do NOT: deal with issues concerning a website’s content, have the jurisdiction to handle complaints relating to the illegal or malicious use of a domain name (e.g. Any complaint about the management of a domain name should first be taken up with the registrar. If the registrar doesn’t resolve your issue, further information about disputes and complaints is available. For further information please e-mail [email protected]

Recently, we teamed up with InternetNZ to host the .nz Registrar Summit in Ōtautahi, Christchurch.

It was a great chance to bring Registrars together to share learnings, hear new insights and perspectives on the .nz domain name space, what’s on the horizon for our industry, and share our data and insights from our regulatory and compliance work.
