✅ Feel the difference for yourself
✅ Meet homeowners and project teams
✅ Learn about comfort, ventilation and energy efficiency

⚠️ Please note: Some projects have limited visitor numbers and advance booking is required, while others welcome drop-in visitors. Be sure to check the details for each property before planning your visit.

A huge thank you to the homeowners and project teams who have generously agreed to share their projects and help inspire the next generation of better buildings.

This two-bedroom bach is a getaway for a busy family. It is built to maximise sea views and the outlook over native bush, as well as being a comfortable and healthy home by aiming for Passive House Plus certification.

Passive House Premium (Complete)

A Passive House in suburbia designed for resilience against major outages and global warming. It has a very large solar PV system, a whole house rainwater system, and motorised external blinds (behind a 4th pane of glass) on all windows to entirely eliminate overheating.

The very small amount of heating required is provided by a heatpump inline with the HRV system. This is our forever home and has been designed for universal accessibility (achieving a 5-star Lifemark rating) to allow us to age in place.

Due to popular request the deadline for submissions on our T-Shirt competition has been extended to 5th June 2026.

For the Passivhaus Aotearoa Conference 2026, our theme is:

“Passivhaus Is a Team Sport”

And what does every team need?

A uniform.

The official PHINZ 2026 T-Shirt Design Competition — and the winning design will be worn by speakers, delegates, sponsors and the PHINZ board - will become a visible expression of this year’s theme.

This is your opportunity to:

• Showcase your creativity
• Interpret what “Passivhaus is a Team Sport” means to you
• Have your design printed and worn across the country

The winning design will be printed on ethically organic Fair Trade T-shirts by Joyya and seen across our entire conference audience.

The winner receives:

• One free full conference ticket
• Public recognition at the conference
• Feature across PHINZ platforms

Submissions extended close 5th June 2026

The winner will be announced on Wednesday, 10th June 2026.

Let’s create something bold, collaborative and worthy of the community
