What a fantastic evening for our Mid-Winter get together, with a spectacular turnout and plenty of good cheer all round.

The Thistle once again put on a wonderful spread. While it was a set menu with just two choices, the team went above and beyond to accommodate everyone's dietary requirements. A special mention must go to the staff for preparing a separate dessert for one of our group who has allergies!! 😊 That level of care and attention never goes unnoticed and is one of the many reasons we enjoy returning there.

We were expecting 12 people, but unfortunately one person was unable to join us due to personal circumstances. Even so, a group of 11 made for a lively and enjoyable evening, with great conversation flowing throughout the night. It was lovely to see everyone and have the chance to catch up away from our usual routines.

For some, the journey home turned into a comedy act of its own, with much laughter over just how many people could fit into one very small car. Let's just say it may have set a record and provided plenty of entertainment along the way!

All in all, it was a terrific evening filled with good company, great food, and lots of laughs. There has already been agreement that a lunch get together should be on the agenda in the future. Not to replace our much-loved walks of course, as those are reserved for a glorious Wellington Day when the weather decides to cooperate.

And speaking of things to look forward to, Christmas is now only five months away. A slightly alarming thought, depending on how organised you are!

For now, watch this space for future plans. A huge thank you to Vivian & Ange for making the night happen and ensuring another successful and enjoyable gathering for everyone. Much appreciated by us all 🎉😊

Mid-Winter Christmas Dinner at The Thistle Inn

Further to the Save the Date notice, we are pleased to confirm that our Mid-Winter Christmas Dinner will be held on Thursday, 30 July at 5:15pm at The Thistle Inn.

Dinner will be $70 per person, with everyone paying their own way on the night.

Please join us as we gather to enjoy some winter cheer, chase away the cold weather, and spend time together in the company of others who understand the unique nature of our roles. As Executive Assistants and support professionals, our work can often be quite standalone and, at times, a little lonely. This is a great opportunity to connect, share experiences, and enjoy some well-deserved companionship and solidarity.

We have visited The Thistle before, and there is something comforting about returning to familiar places and seeing friendly faces.

Hi everyone 😊

Just a wee reminder that our Mid-Winter Gathering is coming up on Thursday 30 July. We sent out a save-the-date back in June, and now that July is flying by, we thought we'd give it another little nudge. 😊

If you haven't registered yet, now's a great time to do it.

It has now been a week since the AdmiNZ Wellington Group APD Breakfast, so why the delay in sharing the update. In true Wellington style, on Wednesday 22 April we were met with wind, rain, flooding 💨☔and a collective feeling of OMG who thought travelling today was a good idea!! 🤭 The event was therefore postponed to Wednesday 29 April at The Thistle, and thankfully the only downfall that day was people overindulging at breakfast, as The Thistle laid on a very grand spread.

Our wonderful sponsor H2R Consulting (Katerina Makarios) ensured we were thoroughly spoiled, including a lovely gift a mug with chocolates inside, because meetings are always better when chocolate is involved. H2R also shared a fantastic write up on LinkedIn ✍, we did not want to jump the gun and steal their moment in the spotlight!! 😄

It was a great event overall, while we were sorry for those who were unable to attend in the end, we extend a huge thank you to The Thistle, H2R Consulting, Scenic Hotels, Juliette Florist and CPG Hotels. We were exceptionally well looked after, and having our Board Chair (Angela Simms) in attendance was very much the icing on the cake, without needing any extra frosting 🍧

Our speaker, Gerard Hoffman 📣 , spoke on the topic of ‘hope when things look dark’. His presentation was both informative and engaging, the writer certainly walked away with new ideas on how to make the day feel easier, brighter and altogether more manageable, even when the inbox says otherwise 😊
