⛳️ Southland Junior Boys Represent at the 2026 U17 Eagles Golf Championships 🦅

A big well done to our junior boys (Baxter, Liam and Flynn) who proudly represented Southland at the 2026 U17 Eagles Golf Championships at Windross Farm in Auckland earlier this week.

Great to see the team taking on a strong field and competing at this level, with some excellent individual scores helping climb the leaderboard throughout the tournament.🏌️‍♂️

Congratulations boys — a fantastic opportunity to gain experience, test yourselves against some of the best youth players in the country, and represent Southland with pride.

Well done team and huge thanks to the Eagles Golfing Society for making this happen 👏⛳️

🏌️‍♂️ NZ Junior Boys’ Interprovincials | Final Day ⛳

The boys wrapped up the tournament yesterday with a loss to Northland in the playoff, finishing 12th overall.

It was a challenging week of competition, with plenty of close matches, lessons learned, and valuable experience gained along the way.

A huge thanks to the boys for their commitment throughout the event, and to the managers, Hami & Liam, for all their efforts in supporting the team.

A special thank you to Terry and Dana at Waikato Golf for organising and hosting such a fantastic event, and to Cambridge Golf Club for giving up their course for the week. Top work to their greenkeeping team and staff for providing excellent tournament course conditions throughout the week.

And finally, thank you to everyone at St Peter’s College who hosted our stay and helped make the week possible. 👏

Well done boys — let’s come back stronger next year! ⛳💪

🏌️‍♂️ NZ Junior Boys’ Interprovincials | Day 4 ⛳

A tough day for the boys, with losses against Taranaki this morning and Bay of Plenty this afternoon, seeing the team finish 6th in their pool.

Despite the results, the team has continued to gain valuable experience, and their support for each other both on and off the course has been great to see.

One more day to go as the boys look to finish the tournament on a high, taking on Northland tomorrow in the playoff for 11th and 12th place. 👊

Unfortunately, we have yet again had to postpone the MLT President Pennant Finals due to the relentless weather we have been experiencing.
It is a tough decision to have to make, but after discussions with the team at Gore Golf Club, the feeling is that the course just isn’t in the condition required for a finals day and a prestigious event like the President Pennants. We want the teams to be able to enjoy their day and play the finals in conditions that do the event justice, rather than battling through a wet and saturated course.
With more rain forecast, we unfortunately just don’t have much choice at this stage.
We know this will be frustrating and disappointing for everyone involved, particularly after already having to postpone the finals once, but as we have said before, the one thing we simply can’t control is the weather!
We will work with the Gore Golf Club to find a new date and will let all teams know as soon as we have one confirmed.

Thanks again to all the players, captains and clubs for your patience and understanding. Hopefully we can finally get this one played soon ⛳️

That's a wrap for the boys today following their afternoon clash against Wellington.

Unfortunately, the match ended in a loss, but once again, it was a closely contested battle, with the boy's showing determination and putting in a strong team effort throughout. 💪 🔥

There are plenty of positives to take away from today and now the boys turn their attention ahead of tomorrow, where they will take on the mighty Waikato. Bring on Round 5! 👊 🏌️
