Our own Golf Southland Board member, Murray Borthwick, along with his wife Mel, have been given the great honour of becoming Life Members of the Mataura Golf Club. 👏⛳

This is a fantastic and well-deserved recognition of the incredible commitment, service, and passion both Mel and Murray have given to not only Mataura Golf Club, but also the wider golfing community across Southland over many years.

A great night coming up in support of Hospice Southland, and one that will be of real interest to the golfing community.

A Night Out for Hospice Southland with Steve Williams is proving extremely popular, with ticket sales already exceeding expectations well ahead of the event.

Message from the Cruise4Care team: If you’re thinking about going along, I’d strongly encourage you not to leave it too late as tickets are selling fast and it would be a shame to miss out.
This is a fantastic fundraiser organised by the Cruise4Care Team in support of Hospice Southland, and with Steve Williams as a guest speaker, it promises to be a really special evening.

A great cause and a great night out.

📢 Update: Unfortunately, the 4BBB Mixed Stableford (Adults & Juniors) event at Queens Park Golf Club has been postponed from this Sunday, 31st May, to a later date in spring. Let's hope we can boost registration numbers next time round, the new date will be confirmed and communicated in due course.

For everyone already registered, your registration will automatically carry over to the rescheduled event.

🏆 Congratulations to the Queens Park ladies team of Linda Suddaby, Dayna Kaio, Janet Mauheni and Raewyn Thompson on winning the 2026 Challenge Bowl Mid-Week Interclub Pennant!

Played at Queens Park Golf Club, the day began in cool and overcast conditions before turning into a much nicer day for golf once the sun came out.

Queens Park finished on a winning total of 101 points, narrowly edging out Invercargill on 100, with Waikaka finishing in third place on 99.

Leading the way for Queens Park were:
⛳ Linda Suddaby – 37 points
⛳ Janet Mauheni – 34 points
⛳ Dayna Kaio – 30 points

To top off a fantastic team performance, Linda Suddaby also won the Glen Spiers Trophy for the best individual score of the day. 👏
