Thanks to the Eastern times and everyone who donated and made it possible for the awesome pizzas and donation last night after training. We all really appreciate your support.

Last night we got to deliver pizzas to our local firefighters 🚒🍕❤️

Thanks to everyone who followed Eastern Times and shared our post - because of your support, we were also able to donate the remaining proceeds raised back to the station 🙌

These legends are always there for our community, day or night, so it was awesome to give a little back.

Here’s a look at the late-night drop off 👀

Last weekend's call-out was the best kind. Surprised a birthday boy with the engine and his reaction said it all. Happy birthday to a future firefighter in the making! 🚒🎉 Thanks for having us.

Help us shout our local firefighters lunch 🚒🍕

Follow Eastern Times - every new follower from now until next Friday = $1 towards lunch for our local heroes.

The more followers we get, the bigger the lunch shout 🙌

We’ll post pics next week when we drop it off 👀

Hit follow on Eastern Times & spread the word, the power’s yours ♥️

Well done to our 4 competitor's that took part in the United Fire Brigades' Association of NZ firefighter competition. I'm sure there are some very sore legs tonight.

Good afternoon Auckland, a couple of really important things.

1️⃣ We've just issued an emergency mobile alert to the Auckland region. We're taking every opportunity to make sure our communities use this afternoon to prepare for Cyclone Vaianu and have a plan in place for Sunday.

2️⃣ From 9pm tonight (Saturday) five Civil Defence Centres will be open.

If you need to leave your home, can’t get home, or can't shelter with friends or whānau overnight, temporary shelter will be available at our Civil Defence Centres in the wider Auckland region.

- Ostend Hall, Waiheke Island - Belgium Street, Ostend, Waiheke Island
- Wellsford Community Centre, 1 Matheson Road, Wellsford
- Shoesmith Hall, Shoesmith Street and Brown Road, Warkworth
- Helensville War Memorial Hall, 2 Porter Crescent Helensville
- Ellen Melville Centre, 2 Freyberg Place Auckland

🏠These centres will provide shelter, light snacks, and some basic sleeping arrangements.

👕 Please bring warm clothing and essential items like medicines, baby and children’s items and special food you may need.

♿️ All Civil Defence Centres are wheelchair accessible
