Our Co Founder and Director, Eteroa Lafaele, is getting married. 💍
As she prepares to celebrate this special milestone with her family and loved ones, Eteroa will be taking a period of leave and will return in late October.
We’re incredibly excited for Eteroa and Tim as they begin this next chapter together.

Last weekend, Fibre Fale had the privilege of spending time with Ngāti Ōtara Marae, beginning the day with a beautiful pōwhiri before moving into our AI workshop.

Together we explored what AI is, why it matters, the opportunities it creates, and the impacts we need to be mindful of as our communities navigate this rapidly changing world.

What made the day special was the rich kōrero. We saw our kaumātua, rangatahi, and wider whānau all engaging in thoughtful discussions about responsible AI and what it means for our people.

One of the most inspiring parts of the day was seeing our kaumātua actively leaning into these conversations, asking questions, sharing wisdom, and helping shape how we think about technology through the lens of our values.

Fa’afetai tele lava to Ngāti Ōtara Marae for welcoming us into your space. The future of AI must include our communities, our voices, and our wisdom.

The method may change, but the foundation remains.

We are proud to announce that SkyCity Auckland Community Trust has invested in Fibre Fale AI.

Not in programme delivery. Not in an output. In the field we are building. In the foundation. In us as founders. We have spent the last year and a half delivering AI literacy and capability programmes, keynotes and masterclasses that equip Pacific businesses and communities to navigate fast-changing technologies. That work is critical to closing the AI divide and it will continue.

But this is only part of our vision.

This investment will fund two complementary research programmes sitting at the governance and technical layers of AI. Work that does not yet exist, that we believe should. This is upstream systems change. From helping our people use AI systems to helping define the frameworks and technical architectures that will govern Pacific lives for generations.

Fa’afetai tele lava for the boldness and backing Racheal Monks and the SkyCity Auckland Community Trust board. The technology will change. The foundation endures.

There is more Fibre Fale AI to come. We are only at the beginning. 💜
