Pacific Feminist Fund

Pacific Feminist Fund We are a women's fund, by and for the Pacific women's movement. The Pacific Feminist Fund Charitable Trust board is incorporated in New Zealand.

The Pacific Feminist Fund is an independent women’s fund led by feminists, and based in the Pacific region. The Fund is for and by the Pacific women’s movement, responding to needs often overlooked by traditional funders i.e bridging the gap between changemakers of the women’s movement and the support they need to deliver with impact. We deliver responsive and impactful support through grants to P

acific women’s organisations, women’s groups and feminist movements, who are change makers at the frontlines of gender equality and human rights. We will explore the world of gender lens investment to create a model that is sustainable and is disruptive of the current forms of investments in the Pacific.

The AIR Partnership is entering a new chapter.

The Australian Minister for International Development, Anne Aly, recently announced at the High-Level Parliamentary Forum on SRHR on April 27, 2026, in Melbourne, Australia, the continuation and expansion of the Accelerating Investment in Women’s Rights (AIR) Partnership. This initiative by DFAT and four women’s funds—Pacific Feminist Fund, Urgent Action Fund, Asia and Pacific, Women's Fund Asia, and Women's Fund Fiji - is designed to increase resources for women’s rights organisations and human rights actors, and to advocate for stronger investments in gender equality across Asia and the Pacific

The announcement was later echoed by Ambassador for Gender Equality Michelle O’Byrne at the “Steadfast: Donors Standing with Indo-Pacific Movements” reception, held on the final day of the Women Deliver Conference.
A month after , we have signed agreements for the coming four years and continue to reflect on and revel in the power of genuine partnerships, collective action, and sustained investment in movements and locally led development.

📸 Swipe through some of our favorite moments from AIR at , capturing how the partnership showed up across plenaries, 🙌a concurrent session, and curated conversations—the kind of collective energy we are bringing into the next phase.

From Fiji's ‘solesolevaki’ to Samoa's ‘fa'alavelave’ - Pacific cultures have always known that sharing is not charity, it is kinship. 🤝

The Pacific Feminist Fund (PFF) carries this ethic into every funder room, every coalition, every negotiation. In a world seeing rising authoritarianism and anti-rights movements, PFF's AIR Partnership, ResourceFULL Collective, and the Equality Collaboration are load-bearing stones. Pacific LGBTQIA+ movements chose PFF as their funder of choice, not by accident, but because trust, built over decades of feminist friendship, holds.

We're proud to have participated in this sharing and learning session via our Grants Enabler, Sereima, who joined feminist-fund collaborators in sharing critical perspectives on movement resilience, anti-rights backlash and sustainable feminist financing at the “Convening Feminist Mobilization for Advancing Women’s Health, SRHR & GBV” pre-conference at Women Deliver.

NZD $1,827,317million - placed with intention across 12 countries and territories, through 30 grants, in the hands of Pacific feminists who know their communities best. 💛 Our grant names - Tausiga, Fotuki, Nuanua, Sinangan, Mauri - are not just labels. They are living languages. They carry ancestral ‘mana’.

At a time when flexible feminist funding remains rare in the Northern Pacific, PFF is setting stones where others haven't dared to stand. This is feminist grant-making as an act of love and solidarity. 🌏

Across our vast Pacific Ocean, nurturing has always been one of the quiet forces that keeps our families, communities and futures alive. Today, the Pacific Feminist Fund (PFF) honours mothers across the region, whose love, sacrifice, wisdom and labour continue to hold together homes, villages and generations, often in ways unseen and uncelebrated. 🌺

We also celebrate grandmothers, aunties, sisters, fathers, older siblings, guardians and all nurturing hearts who step forward with care in the absence of mother figures. Across our region, family has never belonged to one person alone. It is woven collectively, like mats braided strand by strand, through shared responsibility, compassion and presence.

Nurturing is a core PFF feminist value. It is the radical act of choosing care in a world that too often rewards harshness. It is feeding, protecting, teaching, listening, comforting and believing in one another. These acts shape healthier families, stronger communities and more just societies. They remind us that love is not weakness. Care is not secondary work. Nurturing sustains livelihoods, strengthens resilience and helps entire communities flourish.

To every nurturing heart across the Pacific: we see you, we honour you, and we thank you.

Happy Mother’s Day, with love and solidarity from the team at Pacific Feminist Fund. 💜

What does feminist leadership look like in the Pacific?
It looks like co-leadership — two women, two islands, two leadership journeys woven together. ✊🏽
PFF's pioneering feminist co-leadership model, held together by care, the STAGED methodology and collective wisdom, is proof that power shared is power multiplied. Knowledge lives in hands that weave, voices that chant and relationships that hold communities together. This is Pacific feminist expertise - not defined by credentials, but by lived truth.

Across the Pacific, stones hold the marks of time, pressure, and endurance - and so does our movement. 🪨 Our new Learning Report, ‘Stones that Shape Us’, invites you to trace the slow, deliberate contours of feminist change: layered, rooted, and powerful. Just as water shapes stone over generations, Pacific feminist activism reshapes the foundations of inequality - not in a rush, but with steady, ancestral purpose. Read our story. Feel the weight. Trust the process. 🌊

"Movements don't need to be directed. They need to be trusted and resourced."

‘Too often, funding shapes movements more than movements shape funding.’ This hard truth, surfaced by Pacific feminist researcher Ofa Guttenbeil-Likiliki in 2021, continues to define the reality for many feminist organisations today. For decades, movements …
