🌊 Pacific feminist voices belong in every room where change is being made. Our Co-Lead Michelle Reddy was invited to speak at PreventX 2026, Australia's leading conference on the prevention of family and gender-based violence, hosted by Safe & Equal - bringing a distinctly Pacific feminist lens to conversations on storytelling and systems change.

💬 "Storytelling, it's a political act, right? When you choose to share something with someone … it's an act of you connecting. And that connection builds trust … I constantly ask myself: who is sharing the story? Who is being allowed to share the story? Whose perspective is this story being told from?"
And on the power of collective movement:
💬 "A lot of the ways that we … shift the dynamic is by placing movements first … Your work connects with other sectors and it's your collective work that drives the movement."
At PFF, we're not only funding projects, we are resourcing people, relationships and collective power. 💛

🌊 Listening Where the Maps Don't Exist

Pacific Feminist Fund (PFF) is expanding our scope of work into the French Overseas Territories - a region rich with feminist and grassroots energy that has long been under-mapped and under-resourced.
In May, PFF's Sereima and Carolyn travelled to French Polynesia on a joint scoping visit with the Urgent Action Fund, Asia and Pacific (UAF A&P), supported on the ground by K Ora Consulting and Noémie Bardaro.

What they found was a region full of life, resistance, and deep-rooted commitment to community. Resilience shows up in many forms here - through art and creativity as acts of activism, through the quiet defiance of colonisation, and through a profound sense of responsibility to land, ocean, and people.

The visit was intentional in meeting both grassroots organisers and institutional actors. Institutions often hold vital intelligence about local networks - especially across remote islands where formal mapping simply doesn't exist. But grassroots voices tell the fuller story. By bringing both perspectives together, PFF strengthens its ability to fund where others don't, in ways grounded in Pacific feminist values: relational, decolonial, and rooted in trust.

This is only the beginning. In the coming weeks, the PFF & UAF AP team heads to New Caledonia and Wallis and Futuna - continuing the work of building connections, deepening relationships, and showing up in the places where the maps are still blank.
Because meaningful resourcing starts with listening. 💙

The AIR Partnership is entering a new chapter.

The Australian Minister for International Development, Anne Aly, recently announced at the High-Level Parliamentary Forum on SRHR on April 27, 2026, in Melbourne, Australia, the continuation and expansion of the Accelerating Investment in Women’s Rights (AIR) Partnership. This initiative by DFAT and four women’s funds—Pacific Feminist Fund, Urgent Action Fund, Asia and Pacific, Women's Fund Asia, and Women's Fund Fiji - is designed to increase resources for women’s rights organisations and human rights actors, and to advocate for stronger investments in gender equality across Asia and the Pacific

The announcement was later echoed by Ambassador for Gender Equality Michelle O’Byrne at the “Steadfast: Donors Standing with Indo-Pacific Movements” reception, held on the final day of the Women Deliver Conference.
A month after , we have signed agreements for the coming four years and continue to reflect on and revel in the power of genuine partnerships, collective action, and sustained investment in movements and locally led development.
