Join us on our mission to help all children born with Clubfoot in India to ! 💪❤️ CURE International India began its service from April 2009 with a goal to eradicate disability caused by clubfoot in India and at present over 80,000 children are enrolled for free treatment in 351 designated weekly clubfoot clinics spread over all the 29 states in India. With over 150 children being born

with clubfoot in India every day, the role of CURE India in establishing free clubfoot clinics is very relevant and significant. Through this initiative, CURE India aims to enlighten the public that clubfoot can be treated and neglected clubfoot leads to lifetime disability. From its inception CURE has worked primarily with government healthcare programs. This not only helps CURE India establish clubfoot clinics which provide care at no cost to families, but also allows CURE India to reach the poorest of the poor. With the partnering state governments, CURE agreed to manage weekly clubfoot clinics with the orthopedic department in government medical colleges and hospitals. In the partnership, government entities commit to assign doctors who will participate in the free clubfoot weekly clinics and ensure that the casting materials are available for the treatment. State office space is also allotted. Major roles of CURE International India in this partnership are: 1. Provide ongoing training to orthopedic surgeons on Ponseti method of Clubfoot treatment. 2. Maintain medical records for every child enrolled in the state for global research. 3. Provide Counselors who will work with parents to ensure clinic visits and check dropouts. 4. Distribute Foot Abduction Braces free of cost to every child for 4-5 years. 5. Maintain a 24×7 clubfoot helpline for every state. 6. Provide State Program Manager and Coordinator. 👣 Every Early Referral Can Change a Child’s Future!

What happens when community health workers have the right knowledge to identify clubfoot early?
1. Children can be referred sooner.
2. Families can access timely treatment.
3. More children can grow up walking with confidence.

CURE India is strengthening community-level awareness and referral pathways through an Awareness & Referral Meeting with ASHA workers in Kudal Block, Sindhudurg District, Maharashtra.

Our CURE India team member engaged with 54 ASHA workers to build awareness of early clubfoot identification, timely referral, and the importance of appropriate treatment.

We sincerely thank all the ASHA workers for their active participation and continued commitment to connecting children and families with the care they need.

Let’s work together to ensure no child with clubfoot is left unidentified or untreated.

CURE India successfully conducted its 170th National-Level Refresher Medical Training on the Ponseti Method of Clubfoot Management on 22 August 2026 at Government Medical College, Chh. Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra.

The training brought together 43 doctors from the Aurangabad Region of Maharashtra, strengthening their knowledge and clinical skills in identifying and managing clubfoot through the Ponseti Method.

We were honoured to have Dr Shivaji B. Sukre, Dean, Government Medical College and Hospital, Chh. Sambhajinagar, and Dr M. B. Lingayat, Head of the Department of Orthopaedics, join the programme.

Dr Mathew Varghese, Medical Director, CURE India, and Dr Anil Mehtani, Former Director, Professor and Chief of Orthopaedics, LHMC and Kalawati Saran Children’s Hospital, New Delhi, led the training.

We sincerely thank the faculty, participating doctors, hospital administration, and our CURE India team for their valuable contribution and support in making the training successful.

Special appreciation to our team members Ms Vipulata Agale, Ms Manisha Bhosale, Ms Nutan Gaikwad, Mr Vivek Kamkare, Mr Akshay Nitnaware, Ms Seema Tode, Ms Martina Kamthankar, Ms Lata Jadhav, and Ms Puja Bhosle for their efforts.

We continue strengthening collaboration with the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) to ensure children with clubfoot are identified early and connected to timely treatment.

On 21 August 2026, our DPC Asansol, West Burdwan, Ms Adlin, and SPC West Bengal, Ms Reshmi, attended the RBSK Medical Officers’ Meeting at the CMOH Office, West Burdwan.

During the meeting, Ms Reshmi provided an overview of CURE India’s clubfoot programme and explained the treatment process. She also addressed queries from the 47 RBSK Medical Officers on clubfoot identification, referral, and treatment.

A key outcome of the meeting was the discussion with CMOH Dy. 3, where it was agreed that children identified with clubfoot will henceforth be referred to our clinic with proper referral notes. This will strengthen coordination between the RBSK team and CURE India and help ensure that children receive timely and appropriate treatment.

A heartfelt thank you to the CMOH Office, West Burdwan, all 47 RBSK Medical Officers, and the entire RBSK team for their valuable participation and commitment towards improving child healthcare.

Special appreciation to our CURE India team members, Ms Adlin and Ms Reshmi, for their dedicated efforts in strengthening awareness, referral pathways, and access to clubfoot treatment.

Do you also think reaching every child with the right care is difficult?

It may be challenging, but awareness can take us one step closer.

Our team member, Ms Rashmi Rani Pal, ASPC, Cuttack, visited Chhatia Block, Jajpur, and conducted awareness sessions at Chhatia Anganwadi Centre, Solara Anganwadi Centre, Sisubatika School, Solara, and Chhatia PHC. The sessions focused on Clubfoot and other developmental conditions, with emphasis on early identification, timely referral, and treatment.

We thank all the Anganwadi workers, school staff, healthcare professionals, and everyone who supported the visit and helped us take awareness closer to children and families.

Could one simple referral help change a child’s future? 👣

CURE India continues to take clubfoot awareness to the grassroots level, helping communities understand the importance of early identification, timely referral, and treatment.

Our team members, Ms Rekha Singh, State Program Coordinator (SPC), and Ms Sushma, District Program Coordinator (DPC), Delhi, conducted awareness visits at Anganwadi Centres in Palam and Dasrath Puri, Delhi.

The sessions focused on helping Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) recognise the signs of clubfoot and understand their important role in the treatment journey. AWWs serve as a vital link between families and healthcare services by identifying children who may have clubfoot and referring them to the appropriate treatment centre at the earliest.

Early referral can help children access timely care and move towards better mobility and a brighter future.

A special thanks to the Anganwadi Workers for their valuable support and cooperation, and to our dedicated CURE India team members for strengthening clubfoot awareness at the community level.

What happens when young minds come together to learn, serve, and create meaningful change?

This summer, CURE India had the privilege of welcoming around 50 enthusiastic students from Jesus and Mary College (DU), Aditi Mahavidyalaya (DU) and Ambedkar University, Delhi as part of the Summer Internship Programme.

During their internship journey, the students gained practical exposure to the development sector while contributing to CURE India’s work across various programmes and initiatives. Their energy, curiosity, commitment, and willingness to learn brought fresh perspectives and enthusiasm to our team.

Our Director, Dr Santhosh George, recently shared his reflections on the Summer Internship, appreciating the students for their valuable contributions and active participation throughout the programme.

At CURE India, we believe internships are not just about gaining professional experience; they are about learning through service, understanding communities, and becoming contributors to positive change.
